Young, 22-year-old at the time in 16, got called up in 21 in 2015. Had a monster post-season for us. Cannot wait to relive these memories. Addie, how you been? I've been good, man. I appreciate you guys having me. Just seeing you guys' face bring back so many memories. Just excited to be here. Bro, you were world-traveled. Korea, Mexico. Where else? Hasn't aged. Has not aged.
Has not aged a bit. My gosh.
I feel like we walk out like, wait a minute. All of us have gotten older except for Addy. Let's get right into it, bro. 2014, we stink, Cubs. We're here and we make this trade for a young shortstop and it's you. And we trade Jeff Samarja, who is one of our biggest leaders on the team, and Jason Hamill for you. And I know we got a couple others, Billy McKinney in that trade, but... when we made that trade from on our side of it, we knew that was the end of us being bad and we were going to be good soon. And you kind of were the end of all of our woes. I don't know if you know that or not, but did you know what you were getting into after you got traded? I mean, you're coming from Oakland to, you know, one of the best organizations in the world.
Yeah. I mean, absolutely not. I didn't know what was happening on the other end. Um, All I know is I was with the A's and I was climbing ranks pretty quick. I had earlier that year, the second game of the season, I pulled my hamstring and I was out for a little bit. I came back for like a week after about a two month stint in rehab. I came back. for about a week and july 4th you know that was the date that i got traded but it's funny because um that day it was my day to sit because i'm on this rehab program but still playing and uh I remember like looking around the dugout and like no one was talking to me. I'm like, why am I, you know, no one's talking to me.
