Welcome into Jags AM. It's weekly of the NFL season. I'm kind of Stevens brand sex and John Osher with me. We're going to look back at that loss at Denver. Also try to look forward a little bit to the Patriots game this upcoming week. But first, let's start off with our big things brought to you by GEJ Government Employees Health Association. So playing time is big thing. Number one, the talk of the town right now. Travis Hunter and his playing time. Not really showing much playing time on offense and only playing 60% of snaps on defense. Liam Cohen addressed the rotation with the cornerbacks in his media availability earlier this week.
with those guys rotating in, you know, with Buster, Travis, Jari, and then obviously J. Lou specifically and some of the nickel, you know, nickel stuff. So, you know, we did it for the most part of the last season as well before Travis got hurt. And it's something that – We've got to continue to do. We have corners that we have confidence in. Those guys can all make plays for us. They can all communicate for us. They've been in the system now. We've got to play it better, for sure, but we've also got to get to the quarterback to help those guys out.
Brian, understandably, when you lose, there's always a lot of questions. Travis Hunter is always being brought up in relation to this team. Do you think we'll see more play from him going forward? Do you think this will develop by the week?
You know, it's going to develop by the week. Everything with Travis has so far, how much he's going to play on offense or how much he's going to play on defense or how much he's going to play total. You know, I started listening to a podcast in the off-season, Kai, and it's a national podcast, and the hosts use a lot of the next-gen stats, which I've really never paid attention to. But just for fun, because I like the show, I've dived into that pool. And one of the things, John, that I have figured out in listening to it is they're more about success rate and quality over quantity. So if he gives me 27 or 37 or 47 really good stats, I'll take it. I just want more. from Travis in terms of more time on the field, more plays made, because I haven't seen enough plays made yet.
So in a next-gen spirit, give me whatever amount of plays that you want to give me, but make them good.
Yeah, I mean, I think it's a fair topic because this is a kid who was drafted number two overall, and it... A starting corner is what was projected going into the season. He's starting. It's unusual that he's not playing 100% of the snaps. But this team is going to put the guys on the field in situations that they feel like gives them the best chance, regardless of draft position. So I think there is a day going forward that Travis is playing most or all of the snaps at cornerback. That day's not here yet, and I think it's up to him to earn his way into that spot over the course of time.

All right, our second big thing today is going to be turning the page. A frustrating loss in Denver, but they can't carry it over into this week. John, we've talked a ton about how this team responded last year to adversity. How do they address that but not let it linger this week?
Well, look... I thought all offseason that the reason that I've had faith in this team to contend over the long run was that it listened to Liam Cohen, it responds to Liam Cohen, and I don't think that it's going to allow a short stumble to turn into falling on their face over the long term. That doesn't make this game easy, but I think we saw last year it responds well to Liam Cohen when there's a crisis and a loss in the NFL, crisis is too strong, but a loss in the NFL, from outside acts like a crisis. So I think they're going to respond. But Brian, I think this is a tough matchup to respond to.
It is. And I'll go back to the the controlled burn, right? I mean, this is a week where you're going to burn some things down. Figuratively, obviously, in the meeting room, you're going to try to break some habits. You heard the players, John, after the game, talk about all the details and dialing in on the details.
