What is the focus of the Jaguars Happy Hour episode?

J.P. Shadrick 0:01
It is Thursday, February 19th. This is Jaguars Happy Hour. And now, a guy who would have taken home gold if it wasn't for that French judge, J.P. Shatrick.
Unknown 0:19
It's always the French judge. Welcome in. It is Jaguars Happy Hour. We are back, baby. After the hiatus following the postseason run... We're back each week, each Thursday, 4 o'clock here on 1010XLAM with Jaguars Happy Hour. And we are at the Hyundai Studios, the Miller Electric Center. Test drive a new Hyundai today only at your local Hyundai dealer. Here's what's coming up on the show today. A franchise tag window is open. But will the Jaguars use it? Hmm. We'll get into that. Scouting Combine is next week in Indianapolis. A little different feel for the Jaguars this year. They won't have leadership there. We'll get into that coming up a little bit. Free agency beginning March 11th. We'll go through some of the players that are pending free agents for the Jaguars.
Unknown 1:07
J.P. Shadrick with you. Jeff Lagerman out this week. He'll be back with us on a regular basis. Kainani Stevens steps in.
Kainani Stevens 1:14
Pinch hitting today.
Unknown 1:15
You know what? If we're ranking pinch hitters, you're right there at the top.
Kainani Stevens 1:21
Oh, thank you. I'm like the first of the extras.
Unknown 1:25
You're a starter, okay? I mean, let's begin with that.
Kainani Stevens 1:27
I'm like a role player. I'm like LaQuinn Allen coming into pass block and scream at everybody. I feel like I have a very specific team role.
Unknown 1:34
You have some aggression, is what you're saying?
Kainani Stevens 1:36
I mean, I play the role I have to play. So, yes.
Unknown 1:39
Do what you got to do.
Kainani Stevens 1:40
Very exciting.

What are the implications of the franchise tag window for the Jaguars?

Unknown 1:41
How was the break? You guys had Jags AM this week.
Kainani Stevens 1:44
We did. We were back on Tuesday. But, yeah, so we've all been off for about a month-ish, which I think sometimes is nice to just have a little calm down. But... Now that it's offseason full swing again is going to be we're right back in things. It's a little bit different this year. Obviously, we don't have coaching changes for the first time in a while. So for most of the years I've been here, we've had either new coordinators or a coaching search, obviously head coach and everything else last year. So it's the first time it's been calm for a couple of weeks. So it's been nice.
Unknown 2:10
Yeah, no coaching changes. The coordinators didn't get the head coaching gigs they were interviewing for. The quarterback is not a question mark anymore. There's no first-round draft pick. There's a lot of weird kind of different unique Jaguar things this offseason.
Kainani Stevens 2:26
Yeah, and it's nice to see other people, all the coaching. There's 10 other new head coaches across the NFL right now and a bajillion different coordinators.

Which Jaguars players are pending free agents this offseason?

Kainani Stevens 2:34
So for the Jaguars not only to have the same head coach and bring back both coordinators, that's pretty great.
Unknown 2:39
Well, I mean, it has been because of the season the Jaguars had, 13-4, and of course going to the playoffs. They had some accolades and near wins in the postseason, end-of-season award ceremonies, NFL honors. I mean, Liam Cohen was like three votes away from coach of the year in the NFL this year.
Kainani Stevens 2:58
Coach of the Year was one of those things where you look at the candidates and almost anybody that won was going to be qualified in some way because every single, I think most of them were either their first year or maybe second year with their team. And, you know, what Vrabel was able to do, look at Ben Johnson, Liam Cohen, their first years with their new teams, like... to make such big switches and not that i felt like ownership of teams were ever very patient but now seeing all this success in the first year for some of these head coaches i feel like a lot of the coaching changes we saw this year they're saying hey i want that and i want it in one year so we'll see how it all plays out but i'm certainly feel like everybody in jacksonville feels very fortunate that we have liam cohen he's obviously our coach of the year um but yeah i mean
Kainani Stevens 3:39
And it's supposed to be a regular season award, too, so you don't really know. Obviously, the Patriots make a playoff run. I feel like maybe that has a little something to do with it. But it's supposed to be a regular season award.
