How is the Day 9 training camp shaping up for the team?
Yeah, so just obviously a n second year with the team, just how has training camp been and how are things coming along right now?
Um, camp's been great. It's been a really good first week. We got like what seven Seven praxis in with a scrimmage. So a lot of opportunity to get good looks, just remembering that these are the times where not everything's gonna be perfect. That's what we're working on. Um picking out the things that we can improve on and trying to take 'em into that next day of practice and put 'em to put 'em to work on the field.
How was the scrimmage? Were you just being in the game and having a real game like feel to practice?
It was good. It was it's uh it was a little different than like last year being in the stadium and stuff. But kinda it was this was nice being here and ultimately it's uh just a lot of it's a good chance to get Quick, live reps pretty much, uh versus versus the different looks on defense that our defence is gonna give us 'cause we know we're gonna get a ton and that we have to adjust and be ready to go with whatever we're gonna get.
Soft the offensive line shuffle a little bit. Just are is that something that you can notice when you're playing or are you just kinda zoned in and it's like, I'm I'm just doing my job basically?
Yeah, just doing your job. I think everyone who comes in and out has done a great job. Everyone's getting better, everyone's improving, everyone's working together. It's been super helpful for all these guys to get all the reps because you never know when you're gonna need them. You never know when you're gonna need to lean on that experience. So it's a great opportunity for all the guys that have come in to get those live reps next to different guys, myself included, um whenever we figure out what how things are gonna shake out, then you know I've had re I've had reps with everyone that could be there, so that's helpful.
Second year for this group in this system. Do you feel a difference?
Uh yeah, absolutely. The things are quicker, communication's better, communication's even a little bit less because we have a better understanding of what we're doing.
What did the coaches notice about the inter‑squad scrimmage?
Um so that makes things smoother on the field for sure.
Continuing off at that point, you know, more time together, you're gonna delve deeper and deeper into the playbook has that stuff come a lot easier now just like with the play calls and things becoming more and more complex with time.
Yeah, you mean as a group, you think? Yeah, I think so. Kinda like I was saying, it's just There's a better under there's a better understanding of everything we need to get done. So From checking in with the tackles, like, hey, when I say this, what are you thinking? Their answer has been what I think they're thinking, if that makes sense. So that's good that's good knowledge for me to know how I'm saying things, what I'm doing is translating to them and we're all on the same page.
Also we saw you running a couple of routes yesterday. Could we hear a seventy three is eligible a couple of times this upcoming season?
Uh per the rules of football, I doubt it. Unless we get a really weird formation, but that might be a giveaway.
There's a couple of guys obviously well, more than a couple of guys banged up. So like when's the last time you played tackle?
Why are live reps for offensive linemen so important early in camp?
uh practice twenty twenty four in a game The rose bowl. So I mean, but you could do it if you needed to. I mean I can do I can do it if the team need me to. If we get to that point we got we I think we got problems.

I mean Trevor's been doing great. I was telling him the other day, I thought uh like two days ago, I I was like I think this was our one of our best days. Best day at camp so far for sure, just Communication, rolling, getting up to the ball, knowing what we're doing. Um he's done a great job leading and commanding and his understanding of the offense is so much deeper than it was at this time last year. And that's just the nature of it. He's got a lot of snaps under his belt playing in this offense, and we all have a lot of snaps together in this offense.
