Why did the practice end with a spike and how did it affect the game plan?
Ending practice on a spike was a little different, yeah. Was was that Because
we're it was end of game, uh tie score, no timeouts. So the game was essentially over. You know what I mean? Like we're we would have run it, run it, set up a field goal. So we're in no pads. I'm not gonna do that in a two-minute situation. So just basically saying, hey guys, we would have run the ball here a few times, get it to the kick, you know, we're already past the kick line and kick the ball. the ball, I wasn't gonna keep running the ball with no pads on, you know.
It wasn't like you were taking off of the pass
just to kinda get some of the heat off of the guys. We we wanted to go full and you know, we're obviously have some depth issues at a couple positions, specifically O line and linebacker. And uh if we wanna have a successful week, um just uh going full all day didn't sound um sound, you know, so uh wanted to come out and get the conditioning, the work, um got a good, you know, full speed, full uh pads period. Got two full padded uh seven on for the conditioning part of it and the competes and then took them off for the one period in the two minutes. So it was more so just because of where we're at. We got spiders tomorrow and then we got full pads on Wednesday. Uh for the joint.
So much for watching all week. What's that? Was it a good start for what you want to get done all day?
Yeah, I mean it's a little frustrating. Um that you you kinda have to pivot a little bit. And the goal was to go full pads all day and get a good bang work day. Um, so it's a little annoying that you can't you know, we couldn't do that, but you know, that's the job we have to kinda pivot and be flexible and, you know, not try to go we grind them out today and then what do we get out of Wednesday and we're trying to get some good work this week. So um, you know, I think some good things were able to happen today, but obviously not the the full practice we wanted to have.
Liamon Tave's been here a couple of weeks now at linebacker. How has he picked things up and how do you play?

He's
a great dude. I thought he played physical in the game. He's a communicator. He's a team guy. He's a you know four-core special team type guy. He's had to come in and take a lot of reps in a in a hurry. And there's no flinch to him. There's no like looking like a deer in headlights, even though he just got here. He's a pro, he's a pro's pro. He knows how to handle it. himself he's been in some of these situations before. Um hopeful that he's gonna be able to continue to help us.
out this whole week precautionary? Um
yeah, probably I would think. I mean maybe Wednesday if he's feeling better. Um but yeah more precautionary. Got kinda dinged in the in the game. So just trying to let it slow down, let it chill out and give these other guys some reps too. You know, we gotta get Carter and Joey some more reps and uh when Nick's able to go we'll get him back out there. Yeah, I'm I'm trending towards us uh potentially playing Friday night, uh a little bit with the ones. Yeah, so I think we'll That's the goal right now is to look at potentially playing them a little Friday night. You know, you just look at the amount of padded days that we actually have left until um you know the game week, and it's very few and far between.
So you set a schedule, you set it, and you're like, well, timing and circumstances, things change, and when you have to pivot a little bit, and I think we need a little bit more work in terms of coming off of the the Saints joint in the Saints game. I think we just need a little bit more padded work against each other good on good. Can't really do it today. We had to pivot a little bit so like to maybe see these guys Friday night, you know, go out there, get a couple drives potentially, and that'll also help alleviate some of the depth as you mentioned to get some of these guys some work, knowing that I'm not playing I am in week three.
I thought you were asked Saturday but after going back and reviewing the film, what was your impressions of it, manual?
