Why did the Jaguars feel the offense started slow and how did they adjust in the red zone?
Uh overall I thought we started slow offensively. Obviously I wasn't on the defensive side, but thought we started slow offensively. Um once we got down in that red area, I thought things kind of started to pick up for us. Um had a couple guys in and out of, you know, injury bait you know, in and out, and so we had to deal with a little bit of that from a depth standpoint up front. Thought we got running it better as the as the day went. You know, they got a good front. I mean those guys are massive. They've been that way ever since I can remember in terms of their front and how they're built and how they want 'em. Um I I think that it was nice to see the the skill players keep making some plays out there.
Uh I thought Trevor settled in defensively. I think from what I understand we stopped the run well. There was a couple explosive passes that we gotta clean up and look at, but overall great work. I mean, you know, had a couple of little things, but No big fights or anything. I just it was good quality work that you can't simulate at home.
Still rotating the offensive line a lot. Yeah. How did that go?
I mean I couldn't even tell you who was in at the end, honestly. You know, it was just uh had a just a a lot of rotating in there, whether it's because uh trying to get guys work at different spots in these settings or you know, because we had some guys cramping and and had to mix it up, but we'll have to go look at it to see how they truly played, but um, you know, proud of the guys for fighting through.

How did the rotating offensive line affect the joint practice with the Saints?
You hear a lot of good talk going on. Um, you know, you can hear them anticipating probably a little bit more than just reacting. Um, the edge they set an edge in the run game. I mean they can set an edge. I think their pass rush is improved from even a year ago maybe. Um, you know, and and I just think that on the back end Brandon does such a nice job of mixing single high, shell, man, um, making it all look the same, and you can just tell that they're pr they're playing with some confidence right now.
Those guys at the back end uh talked to Brian Thomas, he talked about those matchups against Coolia McKinsey always interesting. What did you see maybe out of him that that was unique this session? He's longer
than I, you know, remember. He's he's got some length that can challenge you at the line of scrimmage, plays with some good anticipation when he is playing off or and you know Brandon asked those guys to match, you know, and play man and play match coverage. And I think when you have the confidence in in a corner to go out and say, Man, hey, you got him. Let's go play one on one and play some ball. I think that that ultimately uh it just helps. helps your defense 'cause now you can roll and dictate coverage other way if a guy like Hooley can be that guy for them.
How much did you feel there was a sense of urgency inside that practice when you got to the red zone? Because like everything up and dominated a bit more. It did.
It got better down there. I think the guys, you know, look you you fly in, we're delayed coming in, just you know, a long night, you get in you get up and go. It's not an excuse, it's the reality. And it was a little slower to go. Um but hey, that is that that's a game too, right?
What improvements did Liam Coen notice in the Saints’ defensive front and pass rush?
Like it it's truly uh the ebbs and flows. That's why this is a great thing for us, is because you get exposure to game like scenarios and that's momentum and that's uh uh playing the next play. And that was the biggest thing that I uh you know, applauded them for after the practice was guys we could have gone in the tank, we came out and stunk early on, but man we just continued to play, keep our heads freaking right where we are, be where we f our feet are and go play the next play. So I was pleased with that.
I am, yeah. I am, yeah. I think our
defense does a nice job of mixing up coverage.
