Chapter 1: What is the significance of the Jaguars' seventh consecutive victory?

9.245 - 31.05 Jay Lawrence

It's 12 degrees in Jacksonville. It's five in Greenwich, one in Edinburgh. It's getting cold, isn't it? This is Teal Talk, the official Jacksonville Jaguars UK and Ireland podcast presented by Gallagher. I'm Jay Lawrence. I just got my name wrong. I'm Jay Lawrence. No relation. He's Key Ramseur and Jason Bell is here as well. And the Jacksonville Jaguars.

31.11 - 35.775 Jay Lawrence

Key, can we just have a little round of applause, at least if it's just you. Our 12 and 4...

0

35.755 - 60.148 Jay Lawrence

0

60.168 - 66.985 Jay Lawrence

Key, could you imagine this last year? Seven winning podcasts in a row. Are you pinching yourself, Key?

0

67.006 - 89.349 Key Ramseur

Do you know what? This time last year, no. But in all honesty, am I pinching myself? Also no, because since the bye week... It's been looking like this. They've been looking like a team that is going to win. And I totally believe seven in a race. In fact, interestingly, since about the Chargers game, which is going to probably where we're going to end up in a few weeks.

89.87 - 98.944 Key Ramseur

So, no, I'm not pinching myself. Jason, here's one for you. Right. We've got Jason Bell with us. The country's greatest NFL pundit. Oh, Jason.

99.344 - 108.174 Jason Bell

I love y'all. That's what happens. So this time last year... Osi's listening now, by the way. Absolutely livid. Osi's like, don't forget who taught you.

108.574 - 128.115 Key Ramseur

This time last year, Jay and I are talking a lot about how the Jaguars, every game, were losing in close games and finding a way to lose. This week, against the Colts, it felt like even though the Jags didn't play their best, they found a way to win. And that feels like a big difference this season.

128.095 - 138.258 Jason Bell

Without a doubt. And you said at the beginning, right, seven games in a row. Yeah. Right. I didn't miss that. That's correct. Right. That's correct. Just make sure. Yeah. You know how hard that is.

Chapter 2: How did the Jaguars manage to win against the Colts?

595.383 - 615.663 Jason Bell

You've got to score. So when you get down there, you've got condensed space. Defenses play you differently. You cannot make mistakes, period, because you can cause turnovers that lose you points. And you missed opportunities. So you've got to finish the play in the red area. And that's why they've got to be on the field. They have been.

0

615.683 - 619.887 Jason Bell

And Trevor leaning on the legs and his running ability is keyed in.

0

619.951 - 643.697 Key Ramseur

so jason you've nailed that for me so one of the things i was going to say was one of the things they're getting right in the red zone is so there were two running touchdowns from trevor one of them was a design play and one of them he read so that's that's working what what are the bits for you that that actually specifically need to be looked at to be tightened up in the red zone

0

643.762 - 666.402 Jason Bell

Well, I think what you said is key. So philosophically, why he needs to be able to take off is this. When you are that threat that you can run, right? See, in the red area, it's tight. So if everything's covered up, the only way a zone coverage can break down is time. So movement breaks it down. So while he's moving around, he continues to look for an opening.

0

666.642 - 684.822 Jason Bell

And if he doesn't, now people have to come out of coverage. So if they come out of coverage, you dump it over their head into the vacated zone. If they stay in coverage, you run it in. It's purely that. But his whole issue is sometimes at that moment, that precipice of decision making, he makes a mistake.

684.802 - 693.822 Jason Bell

And it's just being calm in that and not trying to force it because he's going to dictate exactly how the defense is going to react because they do not want him to run it in.

695.085 - 719.664 Key Ramseur

Okay, so you know the turnover in the red zone, the interception in the red zone. Talk me through that one because... I've heard several different ways of looking at it. What's your take on that? Tell me what you've heard. I've heard two things. I've heard bad decision. Shouldn't have thrown it in that direction. And secondly, I've heard bad throw. I think it was a bad throw.

719.744 - 723.108 Key Ramseur

I'm not sure it was a bad decision. I look at it. I look at that and think that was a bad throw.

724.67 - 733.101 Jason Bell

I think, I think both are the same. I think, I think the hesitation caused the bad decision.

Chapter 3: Who stood out as the MVP for the Jaguars in the Colts game?

848.109 - 856.305 Jason Bell

If we don't fix this, this is going to creep up and this is going to cause us to lose. So that's what we focus on this week. And that's what we're doing now.

0

857.062 - 858.224 Jay Lawrence

We are basically coaches.

0

858.685 - 860.408 Jason Bell

I mean, you know, we're play callers.

0

861.069 - 864.175 Jay Lawrence

Yeah. Oh, my God. I am like basically Liam Cohen.

0

864.395 - 882.329 Jason Bell

Listen, accept your fate. Yes. It's OK. In all honesty, this is what's great about being a fan. Now, the transformational process of being able to say, oh, my goodness, we win. We won. But we need to do this. How good does that feel?

882.69 - 886.181 Jay Lawrence

Yeah, 100%. Yeah, that is the truth. That is the truth.

886.501 - 892.599 Key Ramseur

Jay, you know calling yourself a coach doesn't mean you can increase your fee for this podcast, right?

892.619 - 893.301 Jay Lawrence

Coach Lawrence.

893.321 - 896.029 Jason Bell

I ain't got nothing to do with that, fellas. Yeah, yeah.

Chapter 4: What improvements do the Jaguars need to make before the playoffs?

1060.545 - 1062.97 Jay Lawrence

But, you know, Jags beat the Chargers already this season, in that case.

0

1062.99 - 1064.493 Key Ramseur

Dominated them, yeah.

0

1064.593 - 1067.158 Jay Lawrence

Texans were scary fellas. Yeah, man.

0

1067.628 - 1093.492 Jason Bell

jason does the divisional match up in the playoffs make it is it does that feel different to playing any other team yeah it's more intense but you know yeah yeah it does i've done that i played philly in the playoffs in the wild card before after we had played them twice and yeah it was different it was it was a there was an emotional step up for sure For sure.

0

1093.752 - 1118.42 Jason Bell

And how much you take into account those... I'm telling you, the energy that comes in the playoffs, man, it is real. It is real. You get out on that field, you start warming up, and you're like, oh, my God. You just can feel it. It's faster, too. I can't... Literally, it gets faster. Dudes are flying around. It is win or go home. People are laying it on the line.

1118.46 - 1120.602 Jason Bell

That's why the tournament's so fun.

1120.7 - 1140.991 Jay Lawrence

What I want to touch upon as well is the fact that, in fact, you can answer me this, J-Bell, because the Jacksonville Jaguars fans here in the UK over the last few years haven't had a whole lot to cheer about ever since the championship game, of course, a few years ago, really. But the Jags are in a different spot.

1141.272 - 1160.881 Jay Lawrence

They feel like they're in a different spot, even compared to when they made the playoffs with Trevor Lawrence a few years ago as well. As a fan, do you encourage people, do you encourage, you know, British fans right now to get on board and savour it and enjoy it or to not get ahead of yourself?

1162.043 - 1186.567 Jason Bell

Fans can always get ahead of themselves, you know. And, you know, fans are different than players, right? You need to embrace the victories, the celebration, like... Take it all in. Take it all in, as you should, each week. Ride it all the way to the next game. Because really, you don't have to worry about anything until you sit down and watch the game.

Chapter 5: How can the Jaguars secure an eighth victory against the Titans?

1258.638 - 1283.712 Jay Lawrence

Jason, Jags won 23-17, which means that you get the bonus point because you went for a seven-point... win and a lower score. So it's Jason 16, it's Key 14, and I'm on 13, which means that Mini Trevor could be on the way to Casa del Bel. Let's do the Titans home predictions.

0

1284.113 - 1294.542 Key Ramseur

Key, do you want to get your ridiculous one out of the way? It's not ridiculous. And the bonus point is coming to Margate. It's 31-10. Okay.

0

1294.562 - 1309.858 Jason Bell

Confident. J-Bell? Decent. 31-10, so I'm going to go. All right. Why am I going next when I'm in front? I'm just saying. I just realized that. That was slick.

0

1310.119 - 1311 Key Ramseur

That's a great point.

0

1311.3 - 1333.417 Jason Bell

That's a great point. I'm going to go advantage of winning, but I'm just putting it out there for legal reasons that I understand. If you've got your attorney and your earpiece. Listen, I got representation everywhere. They're really close. She's on the phone right now. She's on the call right now. I'm a legal representation. Y'all might know her. Anyway.

1334.739 - 1336.462 Jay Lawrence

Do you want your prediction now or should I go?

1336.682 - 1340.568 Jason Bell

I'm going. I'm going. I just had to reference the fact that I see what you're doing.

1340.608 - 1354.839 Jay Lawrence

Oh, my goodness. I hate it when people do this because what is going to happen now, J-Bell, is if you don't win this, you're going to be like, well, if I went a different, you know, if I went first. Have I ever made an excuse? Probably. I don't know.

1354.899 - 1370.72 Jason Bell

I didn't play with you, Jamie. Not here. Not here. I'm going to make an excuse in 10 minutes to somebody, but it's okay. Nobody will know about that. All right. So I'm going to go. You went 30, Key? 31? 31-10. I'm going to go 33-14.
