Now that we've had a week of uh to kind of think about all of the announcements from Gen Con, it's worth taking a look at some things that I did not get a chance to mention last week. And also uh one of the thoughts is now that we've had a week, let's think about uh more of what we got.

Now we're able to digest it. A lot of conversations have taken place.

And I think we've come to some kind of interesting things. There's also a couple of interesting polls.
Why are the ENNIE 2026 winners important for the hobby?
We've had one poll about what we're a couple polls about what people are excited about that we're gonna dive into, but also a very interesting poll on the years playing DD, uh, which we're gonna we're gonna look at today. And and then diving into those big DD 2026 announcements and what they all what do they mean to us now that we've had you know a full week, right, longer than a week to kind of digest this.

Today's commentary is going to be the two Goldilockses and the Six Beds. Uh, the premise of this is two different games at the table, one for the GM, one for the players, and both sides are looking for the one that feels just right.
How can you prep between campaigns without locking yourself into a plot?
And it's really hard for an RPG to serve both, hence the two Goldilockses, uh, players and GMs, and the six beds, which one feels right for each of those. We're gonna dive Into that today. Over on Sly Flourish, last week's article was the last article that highlighted material from rise of the lazy gameplay. Master. We've completed the Rise of the Lazy Game Master Kickstarter this last Thursday. Thursday at ten o'clock it ended. We had nearly 9,000 backers. Uh a friend of mine who uh dives into Kickstarter said we were the fifth.
Highest Kickstarter. Sixth highest? We were the sixth highest Kickstarter by number of backers this year. And the top five were all pretty big enterprises, not just um a mom and pop uh uh little publisher like ourselves. So we're very happy. We owe that all to you. Thank you so much for supporting Rise of the Lazy Game Master. Uh, thank you for getting the word out about it. Thank you for suffering through the, I think like a million emails that we sent and all of the different uh uh you know things that I did, all the appearances that you had to suffer through to hear me talk about it again. So uh if you are if you're a fan of what we did, I know you heard more about it than maybe you wanted to, but thank you so much for that.
Uh we're super happy about it. We're really, really excited. That the the Kickstarter did it it went past our optimistic expectations. So So uh we're do we're doing very well and we're fired up. We're ready to go. We're doing stuff. I'm already we're you know Scott Gray and I are editing the stuff. I've got new little bits of things that I'm adding to it. We're we're diving right in. Michelle and I are super excited to to get this off. And if you want to know more about like, well, what's the plan now? The first update to backers will tell you. Now you may be one of the folks who's like, oh Mike, I missed it. Well, first of all, shame on you. I had a month where I told you, but I Just kidding, that's shame on you.
Like nobody's perfect. And it's not like my world is your world, and my thing is the most important thing to me, is the most not necessarily the most important thing to you. Maybe you missed it. There will be late pledges. We have to set it up on BackerKit. Once we'll set up a late pledges thing, you will be able to uh uh do a uh a later pledge for Rise of the Lazy Game Master, both in hardcover and the PDF and in hardcover, and you can add other stuff. What you won't have access to is the special. Deals that were available only on the Kickstarter. So there will be sales of our stuff later on in the year when we get closer to the holidays.
