Hey friends, it's your pal Mike Shea from Sly Flourish here with another episode of Sly Flourish's Lazy GM Prep. In this show, I go through steps from Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master and Rise of the Lazy Game Master while preparing for my Sunday role-playing game. In this case, I am running a Kobold Press Tales of the Valiant game set in the world of Midgard, set in the region of the Marathi Empire, also known as the Dragon Empire. This homebrew campaign is referred to as Scourge of the Dragon Empire. the rise of the lazy game master kickstarter is still going on this is the last full week of the rise of the lazy game master kickstarter rise of the lazy game master is the latest of my lazy rpg books this one's focusing on the eight steps for lazy gm prep expanded with new feedback and new experiences from thousands of game masters and expanded out to all the new games that we've been playing over the years and all the new games that have been coming out
A new focus on lazy campaign building, how you think about your campaign, all the way from the group that you put together, all the way to the final session of your game and how you run that. We have a whole bunch of adventure types, 10 different adventure types, how you prepare for them, how you customize the eight steps, what procedures for play those adventure types have, and what kind of pitfalls you might run into and how you can overcome those pitfalls. a bunch of adventure scenarios that are designed to show how the eight steps of lazy GM prep are built around those particular adventure types and a giant lazy GM toolkit with over 60 tools in it to help you prep and run your games. So please share it with your friends. So in the last game that we had, the characters have been meeting up with a group of kobolds. They've been on their way. They planned out their kind of main mission for destabilizing the Dragon Empire and now have decided it's time to take out a Morza. And we really want to make taking out Amorza special.
What is the Rise of the Lazy Game Master Kickstarter and why does Mike promote it?
The characters are 15th level. They're very high level. And we have six of them at the game today. We have six 15th level Tales of the Valiant characters. So it's going to be a big, big, and they're in a big fight. So it's going to be a big battle today. In fact, it might be just a battle today. We'll see if we get through much else. And the characters have placed a bunch of money with a bunch of different groups. They kind of sent off their allies to go work on their jobs to destabilize the empire. They planted gold that is being tracked, you know, tracked by the Morza to figure out who stole their gold. They took some of their stolen gold and planted in different parts of the nation to further shake everybody up.
So that's really fun. And then they themselves said, okay, now we're going to go after one of the dragons. So to do so, they had to meet up with a group of kobolds called the Tiger Scale Kobolds. The Tiger Scale Kobolds supported Lashmarak, but they did it under a dragon that they supported, an ancient gold dragon. The ancient gold dragon was murdered by Lashmarak's son, another, an ancient green dragon. And when that happened, the kobolds revolted against Lashmorak and have been kind of secretly revolting. Lashmorak has gotten wind that these kobolds are going against them and sent her son to go wipe them out.
