What Sly Flourish updates and Kickstarter news are announced at the start of the episode?

Today on the Lazy RPG Talk Show, we have lots of stuff to talk about with Rise of the Lazy Game Master, the new Kickstarter going on right now. Any voting is now open. There is a really cool Exalted Funeral Any Nomination Backer Kit campaign going on. Insider Magazine, the annual by EN World Publishing, is now available on Kickstarter as well. There is going to be a huge D&D presence at Gen Con this year. We learned more about the Deadfall campaign adventure that's coming out from Wizards of the Coast for D&D. And there's a strange Death Saves campaign setting that appears to be a D&D branded black label setting by Joe Maganello. Today we're going to talk about prepping and running lazy campaigns. How Rise of the Lazy Game Master covers this large topic.

Today's tip is going to be lazy dungeon prep. What are the steps that you can go through to prep a dungeon the lazy way? And we're going to cover more questions from the Patreon Q&A all today on the Sly Flourish's Lazy RPG Talk Show. I'm Mike Shea, your pal from Sly Flourish, here to talk about all things in tabletop role-playing games. It has been a huge week for the Rise of the Lazy Game Master Kickstarter for myself, for Michelle, for our little enterprise here. We've been doing a whole lot of focus, as you can tell, on the Rise of the Lazy Game Master Kickstarter. You can find a link down in the show notes to the Rise of the Lazy Game Master Kickstarter. The cover is over there. We had a tremendous first week.

We had the best... first two days of any campaign we have ever run, including the Lazy DM's Companion campaign, which happened during COVID when there was like 20% more people paying attention to RPG stuff, and when we were doing offset print runs of all of our original books. So this has done as well as that for the first couple of days, and it is doing very, very well right now. We are extremely pleased. Thank you so much for everybody who has supported this project. If you haven't taken a look at it, please take a look at it. You can find a link down in the show notes. There is a free 36-page. A PDF sample that shows you what we're doing there and lots of information and lots of links about what Rise of the Lazy Game Master is about, how it sits alongside your other books, what it offers on its own, all kinds of stuff, all the answers to all the questions that you likely have you can find in the campaign.

And I'm going to talk more about it as we dig into the show. But that has been, of course, the biggest news of what has been going on on the Sly Flourish side. As part of that, I am releasing four articles across the month for the newsletter subscribers and on the Sly Flourish website. Last week's was Expanding Each of the Eight Steps. which talked about for the eight steps of Lazy GM Prep, originally articulated in Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master, and now each of them expanded in Rise of the Lazy Game Master. What does that expansion look like? What are the kinds of things that you get that are different and new for each of these eight steps? So this article talks all about that. Again, you can find that on the Sly Flourish website.

There's a link down in the show notes. And if you want more articles like this, please subscribe to the Sly Flourish newsletter and you will receive them. This coming week's article is Prepping and Running Lazy Campaigns, which I will be talking about here on this show in just a short bit. And this is the articulation of the written word version of this. What are the steps that the book covers when it talks about running lazy campaigns? all the way from your initial thoughts about what your campaign might be, all the way to the end of how do you end your campaigns and all sorts of stuff in between. There's also included some other chapters in here like finding and maintaining a great group and running a session zero,
Mike Shea 3:47
how to run games online, and of course, ending campaigns. So it covers a lot of different pieces of thinking about and or prepping and running your lazy campaign.
