How is Mike promoting the Rise of the Lazy Gamemaster Kickstarter in the final days?
Today on the Lazy RPG Talk Show, it is Gen Con week! There is so much news that came out of Gen Con 2026. We're gonna talk, as much as we are able, about all the various things that we heard. We got a lot to talk about and not a lot of time. It is the last week of the Rise of the Lazy Game Master Kickstarter, so we're gonna talk a bit about some of my appearances talking about it, some of the articles that I've written that dive in deeper into Rise of the Lazy Game Master, and... We're going to cover the rest of the stuff that's in Rise. So we'll talk about that later on in the show. And we're going to cover more questions from the Patreon Q&A all today on the Lazy RPG Talk Show. I'm Mike Shea, your pal from Sly Flourish, here to talk about all things in tabletop role-playing games.
We are in the final days. If you're listening to this podcast or watching this video, very likely we only have a few days left of the Rise of the Lazy Game Master Kickstarter. I really hope you will check it out. There is a link down in the show notes. You get a free 36 page PDF preview that shows you what the book is going to look like. It gives you some valuable stuff that you can use to run your game. The preview is intended to be useful on its own, not just a sample of what you find in the book, but also offers specific things that you can dive into and use to run your game. I have had a bunch of appearances this past week and in the weeks previous where I have been talking about Rise. I was on the One Hit Point podcast, which is available both on YouTube and on Spotify, so you can hear me talk more about Rise.
where I came from, what I've been doing, how Lazy GM ideas came to be, and more about Rise of the Lazy Game Master. I was also on Gnome Stew's podcast called Gnomecast. So you can find a link for all of these shows and appearances in the show notes. So if you want to hear me dive in more, you just enjoy listening to me talk. Who doesn't? I do. Mystic Arts did a video about the eight steps of Lazy GM prep. You can find a link to that video as well. That was really cool. Shadowmane has an article that includes a Q&A. So if you prefer to read rather than listen or watch, you can read an interview that I did for Rise of the Lazy Game Master. Uh, last week's article was the, the lazy GM's toolbox. So this article on sly flourish, which was also available as a newsletter, uh, talks about the toolbox section of rise of the lazy game master over the 50 to 60 tools that we have in this book that, uh, cover all different kinds of little tips, tricks, and tools to help you run your game.
I give some samples. You can find some samples in the sample chapter. Uh, Uh, that's available on the Kickstarter page. You can also find me talking about some of the other stuff that's in there that isn't necessarily in the sample. Uh, the book itself is going to have a whole bunch. I'm actually, I've just, uh, Scott Gray and I, uh, Scott Gray is the, my, my editor on it. And he and I just went over a bunch of stuff on Friday and I've got more stuff that I'm going to throw in there. So there's some, you know, we're still working on it. Like the first draft of the book is done, but, uh, there's still some other things to add. So we're definitely going to add some cool stuff to that. So last week's article was all about the Lazy GM's Toolbox.
I also talked about it on last week's show. So on last week's Lazy RPG talk show, I talked about the other stuff in Rise. And this week on Sly Flourish was the rest of the stuff, which we're going to talk about on this show as well. So when you want to hear about some of the other things that are included in Rise of the Lazy Game Master, we're going to talk about that in a little bit. But the main thing is go check out the Kickstarter page. Check it out. Read what it's about. Check out the sample chapter. If you dig it, please support it. And if you like it, please share it with your friends. Please tell everybody else. Only a few days left. So we're kind of counting on everybody.
