I grew up in CPS, so when I aged out of CPS, that's the number one thing that they tell you. You're going to be a drug addict, you're going to be in jail, or you're going to be homeless. I said, no, I was a straight A student. You're not going to tell me that's what I'm going to be just because of how I grew up or what my statistics were. We're not following statistics. We're breaking those. Hello and welcome back to another episode. Joining me today is Alexia. If you're watching on video, see she's got my favorite color on all red and that's part of her brand. She's a speaker entrepreneur and we're really going to dive into her story and what she's up to. So welcome to the show.

So tell us if someone's listening, they don't know who you are. Tell us a little about yourself and how you got into this.
Well, I'm Alexia. I have my own business, Diamond Red Artistry. I am a travel beautician. I travel throughout the city with my crew. I have hairstylists, nail technicians, currently hiring for more. My goal is to bring up other entrepreneurs who have gone through... situations that have been a little bit more difficult where they don't believe that they can do it I want to be an example and be a reason to show them that you can regardless of where you came from or how low it was or if it was nothing so my goal is to share my story hopefully other entrepreneurs around my area and even around the world honestly will be inspired enough to believe in themselves to follow school complete their education and
strive hard you have to invest in yourself and really believe in yourself and it can happen and what you know what's the back story to that what got you into this and made you so passionate about that I've always been into beauty. It's kind of been my outlet. When I was a child, that's all I had was beauty. I would play with makeup. I would actually take it from my grandma, but I've been through a lot of abuse and neglect. I've been through the system with CPS. I've been kidnapped, unfortunately, and went through sex trafficking. All in all, the only thing that ever made me feel safe was makeup. Once I got into real estate, I learned the aspect of business and how to manage the books and how to run a business effectively with property management.
I also managed about 10 to 20 properties throughout the Valley. So I learned how to manage the back end of the business. So I decided to take what I love because I'd rather work for myself and do something that I love to do every day. I make money with it. So I went to school, got my cosmetology license. I already have my real estate license and I'm in school now currently for my business degree so that I can go ahead and open my one-stop shop eventually in the next five years.
