In this episode, I talk about how we need to bring the sacred back to birth work. And it starts with us as birth workers, cultivating ourselves as sacred space holders, doing the inner work, becoming self-aware, and having daily practices that bring us into the present moment, quiets the mind and drops us into the heart and womb consciousness. Because knowledge and skills are secondary. What women in birth need most right now are true space holders. Women who can bring presence, reverence, and a deep sense of emotional, metal, spiritual & physical safety into the birth room. The missing piece in birth worker trainings out there is the inner work & teaching birth workers HOW to become space holders for birth. It’s about becoming that clear, grounded presence who safeguards and supports the physiology of birth to unfold and for the woman to feel supported. In the end, the way we bring the sacred back to birth work is by being the sacred witness and the devoted servant in the birth portal, walking alongside women in their power, knowing she is the only one who can birth her baby, and coming with the full awareness: I am here to serve that.
