Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
For too long, Australian law didn't just fail survivors. It forced them into silence. Nina Fennell is a Walkley Award-winning journalist and a survivor who helped overturn damaging gag laws in the Australian justice system. She was the driving force behind the campaign that allowed women to finally speak their own names. Her work doesn't just tell stories, it drives change.
Hi, I'm Gemma Bath, host of True Crime Conversations. And this very special two-part episode isn't just about the justice system. It's about what happens when women are finally heard. A raw, honest look at the power of a single voice, how silence is shaped and how women push through it. Hear my conversation with Nina Fennell on True Crime Conversations.

You ring the bell and you get your DNA in the game. From there, you eat straight to your throat. A very exciting opening, because all of the M&M's from Viaplay Total will be at the price of DNA customers. Soon we'll hit the networks to Tötterö. Oh my, what a carnival. This is so much fun. So much fun.
Life is.
From Mamma Mia, welcome to The Spill, your daily pop culture fix. I'm Laura Brodnick. And I'm Tina Burke. And coming up on the show today, a curse. I love a good curse. And this one is to do with Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet. And look, curses are real. That's all I'm going to say. Also, Blake Lively has been dealt a new blow. You thought the legal battle was over. It is continuing.
It will never end. It never ends. And apparently now we've got an angry judge, but we've also got a big sense of betrayal from her audience. So we're going to get into that a week after the settlement news came out. But first, some interesting TV news to kick us off.
And my favorite kind involving a hot person. Yeah. It's always a huge day in my world.
All TV news should only be about hot, hot people. Hot people should be at the center of stories. Or should they? Or should they? Well, no, no, no. Because I do. I believe hotness does come from within. Not for everyone.

Chapter 2: Why did Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet skip the Met Gala?
And then today at the Disney Upfront, some of the stars were on stage with like a druid-ish... in a mask. Yeah, they were druids. I am waiting for the, have you seen video of this? Because I have been scouring the internet, like trying to find different angles.
Like I'm like, I want more. The videos are so funny of like the cast coming out with druids next to them. Druid is like a, I guess like a tree spirit. I love that I get to explain that. One day we'll make a podcast, which is all my kind of like fantasy lore nonsense that I spend my time researching. But my favorite thing was all the trade magazines who like just very straight, the publications.
Yeah. Saying like, and the cast walked out surrounded by druids.
Chapter 3: What is the Met Gala curse affecting Hollywood couples?
Yeah, like amidst a sea of druids. Yeah. And also bring more druids into presentation. Bring more druids into the vibes. Bring them to the Mamma Mia up front. That's going to be my caveat if I do that up front this year.
Druids on stage. Yeah. But obviously a part, like the big reveal, the ultimate moment was the fact that Paul Anthony Kelly is going to be starring in season 13. And he said, I guess every nightmare needs fresh blood and 13's my lucky number. For anyone who does not know, Paul Anthony Kelly is the hot guy who plays JFK Jr. in Love Story. Yes.
So this is big news this morning. One is because this season of American Horror Story, if you're a fan of this huge, huge, huge franchise, which kicked off this whole big, like, this side of the Ryan Murphy universe, which is like American Horror Story. And then obviously we had American Crime Story. And now, well, they took off the American but Love Story franchise.
Yeah, and I still always call it American love story.
I'm like, ah, yes, that American love story. I think they did that so you could do love stories from different countries and not keep it this whole kind of Americana thing, which I guess is a smart business move. But American Horror Story is one of the greatest TV series in the world.
And so every season is a new story, but often the same characters playing different roles, like an anthology series. And look, it's 13 seasons in. So obviously things are going to be a bit rocky. But the last few seasons have been diabolically bad. Like bad, bad, bad. And also it's not Kim Kardashian's fault because she was one of the leads in the last one.
I have to just caveat that woman has a lot to answer for. Not this. Not the downfall of American Horror Story particularly. Yeah. You think she was dealt like a bad script and vibe? Well, no, she was fine. That was just not a bad.
I mean, the thing is like when the other actors who are normally in American Horror Story came in and acted against her, like a Leslie Grossman and stuff, and then you saw what Kim Kardashian's role could have been, had a very seasoned actress be in it, you're like, oh, she is not. She's just not trained. That's all she is. She's not good. But there are a lot of problems with that season.
Like even Emma Roberts couldn't save it. And Emma Roberts is incredible in American Horror Story seasons. So the big thing about this season is that all the big players, like the critically acclaimed, esteemed actresses who all signed on to do this horror show and made it what it was over a decade ago-

Chapter 4: What new developments are there in Blake Lively's legal battle?
It's the looks. It's the looks. Because he was a model before as well as wanting to obviously be an actor. His career was modeling.
And how do we think he was in the show? What do you think how he was in the show? I thought he was very pretty. Yeah, exactly. That's what everyone says. That's a pretty man. And you know what? There's such a place for pretty Ben.
And I also thought like, I'm not a big IHS fan. So like this could be the wrong place to test him out. Right. But I was like, I kind of want to see him in something other than love story because was it love story or was it him? Oh, it was Love Story. Oh, sorry. I already know the answer.
You know, like I'm like, is it that Love Story was like just really over the top or was his acting over the top or what was it? Like, I didn't think he was amazing, but I like him and his vibe. I loved him being drunk at the Met Gala and doing interviews. I loved him being a cutesy pie. I like how he talks about his wife. He says lovely things.
I know the top Google search for him is Paul Anthony Kelly wife.
Oh, yeah, because the girls want to know.
Him and his wife and his new baby. It's a wonder they didn't, like, lock them in a closet somewhere. Like, no, no.
I know.
Like, right as he blew up, it was like, and he's had a baby. People are so funny. They're, like, Googling. They're like, what are my chances of this man?

Chapter 5: How has public perception shifted regarding Blake Lively?
And for him, I think he just physically looked like John F. Kennedy Jr. And so they slotted him into the role and he was kind of fine with everything around him.
But I don't, and maybe I'm wrong, but because it was his first acting role and it's just unfortunate, him and Kim Kardashian, it's just unfortunate that their first big acting roles were leads, whereas normally people work their way up in different supporting roles to get to that point.
But I just don't know if that man is a bit of a star and I don't know if we should be testing him out in a make or break season of American Horror Story.
But do you think if they make him small enough, it'll be okay? Yeah, maybe. Because they've got all the big players, so surely he's not going to be one of the big, big, big players.
Yeah, and look, American Horror Story sometimes does some funny stuff with pretty guys. So I look forward to that. But I just think you can't put him in a room with Angela, Sarah, and Jessica. No, not yet. They'll act circles around that man.
Yeah, he needed to get there eventually. He needed some small indie roles.
Maybe they'll just keep him in like little supporting parts of the Ryan Murphy universe.
Every time you see him, you'll be like, it's that guy from Love Story. Which is Ryan Murphy's whole shtick. He's like, let me recast this person. But half the time, the person he recasts is like award winning actor. And the other half, it's just someone hot. And like, you never know which way it's going to swing for a newcomer. Paul could, who knows what Paul could be.
I do want to ask you, the only thing they've said about the season, like they were like, we've done this and we've done this. And they've been like, which iconic horrors will return to haunt the hallowed halls of 13 and what new terrors await? Light your candles, draw your pentagrams and prepare for the supreme surprise. What do you want?

Chapter 6: What are the implications of the Met Gala curse for celebrities?
We've heard the scandals. Just as we think that's dying down, a new news story breaks. And that is the fact that a source close to Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet has allegedly told Page Six in exclusive interview. These are all buzzwords to say that no one.
Those were a lot of buzzwords.
I liked it. So many buzzwords. I was like, ooh. So many buzzwords to kind of cover up the fact that no legitimate source has said this, that Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet didn't go to the Met Gala together. So she walked the red carpet in her beautiful boobie dress. And he was at a Knicks game. That's basketball. Yeah. For anyone who wasn't aware.
And they didn't walk it together, despite the fact they've walked other red carpet. And at the time, we surmised that, well, I surmised it. I wasn't here, I was outside. Yeah, I would tell anyone who listened that it wasn't a huge deal. The Met Gala is very much her thing. She's a fashion girl. And he's only been once. Yeah, exactly.
This is her, like she doesn't do a lot of big red carpets and things solo, outside of kind of like being his day, but the Met Gala has always been one of her things. Her thing, for sure.
And he only goes to things if it's like one of his premieres or like his movie or something like something that's kind of furthering his career that he can make a statement about that he's the star, which is just a business decision. I get it. So he went to the Knicks because he's a huge, huge Knicks fan. He's always courtside screaming.
Do you reckon him and Ben still like tossed a coin and it was like, well, I'm going to go to the Met Gala and you have to go to the Knicks game tonight? Because they're always there together. Yeah. And Ben did not seem thrilled about missing the game.
No, he was at the Met Gala and he was wearing an orange tie for the Knicks. And he did look under duress. But I don't know, maybe Christine Taylor, his wife, and like so cute. They were together for so long. Then they were separated. They got back together during the pandemic. They fell back in love. Maybe she was like, we're going to the Met Gala. Yeah, we're doing one cool thing.
I go to the Knicks all the time for you. We're going to the Met Gala. And he was like, fine, but I'm wearing an orange tie.
