This week on Two Parents & A Podcast — we’re looking deeper into schooling (you guys had so much good feedback last week). We talk about the possibility of starting an at-home daycare (s/o Maria), how we’re thinking about community and curriculum, and what our long-term plan could look like if we decide to do school this way. But before that, we’re recapping Mother’s Day (spoiler alert: Harrison rated his efforts a 6.5/10 and I got food poisoning lol), debating whether you ACTUALLY need to fasten your seatbelt during turbulence, and breaking down the scary moment we had to use the CPR/choking class we took before Tate was born. We came across some wild things this week in Things We DMed Each Other… including a massive baby formula scandal from the ’70s (??) and the ongoing conversation around the “decline” of alcohol (honestly, it feels like you can make data say whatever you want.) WE LOVE YOU GUYS! Chapter 1: What did Alex and Harrison do for Mother's Day?
So first ever guest viewer.
Yeah. I'm like a little nervous. It's making me nervous.
Definitely. You feel additional presence in the room. Yeah. I have a camera in front of her so I can't see her, which is making it a little, um, I want to use the right word.
A little less nerve wracking.
Yeah, sure.
Are you nervous? Do you get nervous? I've never seen you nervous.
Of course. Everyone gets nervous. I just don't remember the last time I got nervous.
They say nerves are very healthy because, okay, so back.
Oh, I was nervous. Last time I was nervous was during Tate's birth. I was very nervous during the birth.

Chapter 2: How did they handle a choking incident with Tate?
You actually made a note section?
I actually made a note section because it got so excessive that if we're going to keep, like, I'm good with you saying you don't like dairy. It's this, I'm like allergic to dairy claim, but I'm going to go eat a chicken parm.
Chapter 3: What should parents know about baby CPR and choking?
Chapter 4: Do you really need to wear a seatbelt during turbulence?
Well, that's the normal bump that they have until it closes, right? Yeah, so Kathy's in town because Harrison, if you guys remember, you gave us the present of Kill Tony.
Yes.
Going to the comedy show. Yeah. I got food poisoning. I didn't go to the comedy show. Kathy and Harrison have reported that it was an 11 out of 10.
It was very good. But before I talk about how good it was, there was one very weird thing that they did.
At the show?
At the show.
Okay, what?
They had this band play for like 20 minutes before the show started. May have been more than 20 minutes. And it was like you're going to a pizza restaurant and they bring you sashimi as an appetizer.
Having a band play at a comedy show?

Chapter 5: What is the Nestlé baby formula scandal?
for music i'm here for comedy so even if the music's really good like my appetite isn't for music right now now i didn't really have like it was one of those bands that like doesn't really sing so it's just about the music background music but it was really loud but is the alternate like alternate option here that you're at the pizza restaurant and there is no appetizer
If you have to have something, is sushi fine? Normally comedy shows, they warm you up with openers, right? And so the openers are the appetizers.
Oh, and that's like getting a pizza roll. That's or Caesar salad. Yeah. Oh, this is interesting.
On the topic of Caesar salad.
Yes.

Chapter 6: Is there a decline in alcohol consumption?
I'm not sure if I'm going to be allowed to do this, but I'm going to go with it.
You found a bug in Caesar salad?
No. Oh. I wrote down on this topic of are you dairy free or aren't you dairy free?
Yeah, I knew that was probably going to happen. Caesar salad has Parmesan in it, and most of the time I can have it.
In Miami, I wrote down all of the dairy that you ate.
Okay, well, why don't you present it to the class?
Okay.
You actually made a note section?
I actually made a note section because it got so excessive that if we're going to keep, like, I'm good with you saying you don't like dairy. It's this, I'm like allergic to dairy claim, but I'm going to go eat a chicken parm.

Chapter 7: What are the plans for an at-home daycare?
There's no cheese left on the plate.
I didn't eat any of the parm part of the chicken parm. On an airplane, Harrison, I would never eat dairy on an airplane chicken parm. Which is hardly real, but I would never eat dairy on an airplane.
So where did you put the cheese?
Harrison, all I ate was the chicken.
Chapter 8: How are they considering alternative schooling options?
It was my chicken parm. I cut you half and I was serving you the bites because you had Tate. Yeah, but there was a very nice guy me serving her the bites.
Very nice girl of me to hold Tate.
Much nicer of you to hold Tate than me to give you the bites. Okay. So I knew what you were, like, it was very clear. Like you were, there was no like hiding what was going on. There was no, the cheese was 50 50.
I didn't eat. Okay. What else? What else did I, when did I eat dairy?
Okay. So Caesar salad.
Parmesan.
At Sonny's.
Okay. Um, no, we didn't end up getting the Caesar salad. You said it didn't look good.
Sorry. Caesar salad at, um, at the hotel.
