Two Strike Noise - A Baseball History Podcast

Episode 189 - Mick the Quick, Mickey Rivers

01 Nov 2022

Description

We start out the final week of MLB this year with some World Series talk, some cryptic comments from the commissioner about extra innings next season, we check in on the Climax Series from the NPB, rehash some David Wells memorabilia video and answer our first round of trivia for the off season. In our main segment, we talk about one of the best lead off batters from the 70’s in Mick the Quick, Mickey Rivers. He was always a threat on the base paths and a favorite in the locker room with both teammates and reporters. His speed on the bases was matched only by his quick wit. Then, in an epic Wax Pack Heroes, we open some 1991 Score and score (get it) not one, but two Ozzie Canseco cards! It went downhill from there. If you've got those Tom Foley or Ernest Riles cards just sitting around you can donate those commons to charity and maybe spark a child's interest in baseball and collecting.
