Chapter 2: What nostalgic beauty trends do the hosts recall from their childhood?
And welcome to Vain-ish. Welcome to Vain-ish. We need a jingle. We did. We did. We should make jingles.
Vain-ish. Ish. We do have a jingle.
We just came out of it. I feel like we need to make it like a full rave.
A rave.
Chapter 3: How did the hosts' vanity manifest during their upbringing?
Yeah, we should get Dom Dollar to like actually write us it. We should have got Dom Dollar to write us that like five years ago because now if he wrote it, it would be like $10 million. I know, right? I know. I know. It's so true. So last week we had Lana Wilkinson on and we were talking about how we used to make money, like our money-making schemes.
Well, I didn't make money.
You did. Yeah, when we were kids. And I was reminded of it again over the weekend. So my twins have found this amazing hack. Oh, really? So they're obsessed with footy cards. And if you go on the AFL Team Coach website, you can buy whole boxes of footy card packs. So footy card packs are like huge currency, like Pokemon cards or... In AFL season, people trade players' cards.
And you can go on the team coach website and you buy a whole box, which has like maybe 36 packs in it. But you can go back in time. So you can buy whole boxes from way back when their dad was playing. So how much are they for a whole box? Like for the older boxes, like I'm talking like 2010, they're about $100 for a whole box. Wow. Oh, okay. Right? So they do jobs, so I'll buy them a box.
Chapter 4: What money-making schemes did the hosts and their listeners share?
Okay, okay.
They're doing jobs, so that's good. Then they open up the packs and, of course, their dad is in, like, every pack pretty much because he was a superstar back then and won everything.
So they've got, like, in one box they've got seven standard Chris Judd cards and one, like, Magic Wild card, which is a big box, and they're getting him to sign them and then they're taking them to school and selling them.
How good. Oh, my God, so good. I'm actually going to come over with a whole bunch of footballs and I'm going to make Chris sign them. There you go. And then I'm going to sell them. Actually, that's a great idea. How good. Why have I not thought of that? Well, I hadn't either until they were like, hey, Dad, sign this, sign this, and then they take them to school.
We should get a football and get like all our mates to sign it so we get like Chris, we could get JB, Scott Pendlebury, Nathan Jones, Scott Pendlebury.
We should just get it and sell it.
We are underutilising these old washed up footy players. We can literally go to Coachella every year like without going, oh my God, like how are we going to make money? Yeah. Yeah. Let's do that. Epic. Oh my God, they are so good. So thank you Tom and Darcy.
Yeah. And so they got on board, but we also had our listeners get on board and you guys have sent us some of the best money making schemes. Let's take a listen.
Hey, Bec and Jessie, it's Renee here. So I embarked on my childhood money making scheme when I was in year eight at boarding school. I would go and buy packets of mini Mars bars and Milky Ways on special and then sold them to other girls in the boarding house for like a dollar each. I kept all of this in a big toolbox of the padlock in my cupboard, along with all the coin I made.

Chapter 5: What beauty routines do the guests currently follow?
My childhood money-making scheme was my best friend and I... would walk up and down our street knocking on everyone's door and asking if they needed any odd jobs done. We'd do anything from washing their car, cleaning, weeding. Some people even had us doing their ironing, which is incredibly risky because we were only 14 at the time. We would also busk in the city.
Now, I didn't play any musical instruments, but my best mate played the violin. So I would stand there with her and every time she nodded, I'd turn the page for her, smile, encourage people to put money in. The hat at the time. So, yeah, I would take a cut from her earnings.
That's so good. Busking, ironing. My kids would never.
That's got an elite level of hustle. Yeah. Yeah. I've actually forgotten what everyone just said. There were so many. My brain was going like, I was almost writing ideas and then I was like, oh, my God, I don't know what.
You know what? Facebook Marketplace, can they come over to my house? Because I would happily split 50-50 for someone to come and just take the stuff out of my cupboards and go and sell it. Yeah. Oscar's friend does this and he makes so much money. Things like scooters or cushions or the most random stuff.
So guys, go over to Bec's house and take all Juddy's clothes and sell it and sell it with Juddy's DNA on it. You can make more money. There you go. Still smells like him too. So good. So good.

Chapter 6: What are the funniest beauty moments shared by the guests?
Oh, gosh, this is going to be so fun, Jess Roberts. Oh, my God. Our best ever.
Best. I'm so excited about this. Also quite nervous. Me too.
We have our mums, the OG style icon, beauty icon women in our life. My mum, Keza. Kerry Brown. Kerry Brown. Also known as Brown by her American boyfriend, Randy. Or Keza. Keza. Hi, Kez. She's just giggling. Sorry, I'm just laughing my head off. Hi. Granny. Oh, we're not allowed to call her granny or nanny.
She's like, when I was pregnant, she was going to become a grandma and was having an existential crisis about it because she wasn't the mum anymore. She was the grandma. She's like, I'm not going to be grandma. I'm glamour. Glamour.
Glamour. Glamour. I love that. And then I've got my mum here, Dianne. Dianne.

Chapter 7: What beauty advice do the guests offer for mothers?
I've never heard you called Dianne. Only my father. And then spelling, D-E-E-A-R-R-N. Oh, it's a double R. Yeah. She's got two doubles in there. It's like D-R-N. D-R-N. Yeah. It's exactly right. Yeah. And also, same thing. When I was pregnant at five. No. When I was pregnant at 20, mum was refusing to be a grandmother because you were 40. Yeah.
Yeah, that's the same as my mum.
Too young. Too young. How rude you girls are.
And my mum. Yeah. You didn't get to meet mum for as long as you deserved.
And I was single for about five seconds. And she told me she was having a baby.
Yeah, no, I said to mum, I'm pregnant. Mum goes, your father and I are splitting up the day after. Yeah. Yeah. And I was like, whoa. Whoa.

Chapter 8: How do the hosts reflect on their mothers' influence in their beauty journeys?
I know, out with the old, in with the new.
So grandma, granny, nanny? No, I always say no, I'm too young for any of those. So I'm Dee Dee. You are Dee Dee.
I am Dee Dee, yeah. I've had the pleasure and privilege of knowing all of your grandchildren for a very long time and I only know you via them as Dee Dee. Yeah. Yeah.
Well, I wasn't allowed to be called Grandy because we already had a Grandy, but my son's just had a baby and he's not, you're not Dee Dee.
What's he calling you?
He's calling me Grandy. Are you serious?
Yeah.
I was like, really? Lucky you live in different states.
Yeah. What does Grandy think about that?
