Hey, what's going on? My name is Tyson from previsible.io, and today we have a special Voice of Search episode. This is actually a replay from our live Voice of Search podcast at Brighton SEO. We did a live panel discussion where I got the pleasure to host Mike King, Martha Van Burkel, and Jordan Cooney as we discussed how AI is changing the landscape in which in which we're competing, the tactics in which we're using to drive success, and also the skill sets that we need to ensure that we're on the forefront of our very fast pace and changing industry. This was a lot of fun. I had a few questions kind of in the can, ready to go, kind of, for it. But then we also were pulling in questions from the audience and weaving in as many as I could, kind of following along with the natural flow of the conversation.
Tyson Stockton 1:34
So it was really great. Thanks for everyone that came out to see the session live, submitting questions. I think we got a really strong s response about how it was great to have a more interactive session. Where otherwise for kind of the two days you're getting information one directional. So it was really fun and we wanna do it again next year. So with that, hope you enjoy our first ever live Voice of Surge podcast. Thanks for joining us. My name's Tyson, COO at Previsible, and also a host on the Voice of Search Podcast. We have Martha here. Martha is a fellow West Coaster coming from Vancouver. Um, I learned recently that she spent time in Northern California driving a purple VW Beetle, which for me being a Northern California native, I immediately thought hippie.
Tyson Stockton 2:22
Learned it wasn't exactly the case. We're talking Santa Clara, so not exactly that. But I also learned last night that she would go to my San Jose Sharks games to root for any Canadian team that they were playing against.
Mike King 2:36
Woo!
Tyson Stockton 2:38
Marta is also the CEO at Schema App and her team has a booth out by the balcony out there, so be sure to come by and check her out as well as for session later today. Next up we have Mike King. I think everyone here probably is aware of Mike. Mike has done most things in SEO. He has a book coming out, The Science of SEO. He's also put out a rap album. He also did a movie a couple years back at MozCon and kind of leaves us to be what's next? Finally we have Jordan Cooney. I don't know where to start with this one. I've known Jordan for over ten years at this point, and apparently I'm still learning new things about him. A couple weeks ago I learned in Two Truths and a Lie that he sold his first car for one dollar.
Tyson Stockton 3:22
On eBay? Yeah. And yeah, it's I've known Jordan for a long time and as much as I love to give him shit, still learning from him and watching how he's able to operationalize and really like rally internal teams to execute on SEO is super impressive. As I mentioned, we're gonna hit through these three categories and then open up the floor for kind of lightning round where people can ask kind of whatever question they would like. So starting things off. I'm gonna throw the first question out to Mike. And the question that we have here is gonna be around how the industry is shifting. So will Google continue to be the fundamental search engine in the next five years?
Mike King 4:01
Absolutely. Nobody's gonna beat Google. And the reason why, unless unless our government decides to break up Google, no one is gonna beat Google. It's not gonna be open AI, it's not gonna be any of these like perplexity or anything like that.
