Um, so this one's a crystal ball. So we're looking into the future.

What future changes are expected for enterprise SEO team structures?

Tyson Stockton 0:48
And the question is, how will the structure of enterprise SEO teams evolve in the next 18 months? I know this is also a very broad question in the sense of like, what's the organization and all of its other elements to it? But maybe more so like, are there Emerging skill sets or an element that you'd want to be more mindful in the composition of your SEO team over this next 18 months.
Petra Kis-Herczegh 1:17
Yeah, I um these questions are always just difficult because I think I want to say what I would like it to be, versus what it might become. Um, what I'm thinking it might become. Well let's do both
Tyson Stockton 1:29
then. Let's do both.
Petra Kis-Herczegh 1:30
Yeah, so I think it kind of l leads back to that first question. I would love SEO teams to really own that AI search piece as well because it's so part of what we do already. So I hope that that's gonna be the case, that a lot of these teams will naturally become the experts in explaining the the algorithms behind, you know. how how users interact with with these with these open AI tools or open AI or um AI elements on CERBs and and and on different platforms and who knows what other platforms will come in in the coming months or year.

Why should SEO teams own AI search expertise within organizations?

Petra Kis-Herczegh 2:07
So that's what I would really want. I think the reality is probably still that those who really focus on growing this skill and advocating within the business and and finding sort of the right teams to Again, show those examples of like where you already have data and show your expertise where you can help support them in understanding, you know, how the brand is performing within AI search, for example. Like establish that that authority for yourself and and grow that out. And those who can do it will probably become really essential. in the business or, you know, they grow a skill set that's gonna be very competitive going forward. So they they will find good good roles in enterprise and or or different teams as well.
Petra Kis-Herczegh 2:53
The other part that I'm seeing is that And I think we are kind of already seeing this trend that SEO teams will shrink again. So I think we kind of went from the one-person SEO teams to a trend of growing in in-house teams back to shrinking teams and outsourcing. And I think that's that's gonna remain a trend for those SEO teams who are kind of seen rigidly as just this traditional SEO per se.

How can SEOs demonstrate authority in AI‑driven search performance?

Petra Kis-Herczegh 3:19
whether that's uh I say that in yeah in quotation marks because it's kind of like what is traditional SEO but I think it's important to show that adaptability um and then that's gonna be crucial to how your career changes going forward because it's it's either you you have to become that authority in AI, there is no no way around it.

Time for a one-minute break to hear from our sponsor, Previsible. So you're looking for SEO help, then you got a couple of options. You could start replying to spam from agencies that claim they can get you to rank number one on Google. You can pay an hourly rate for a consultant who will inevitably nickel and dime you with hourly charges, or you can work with a cookie cutter agency to quickly launch a strategy-less project with low success rate. None of those sound very good. Now do they? Well, that's where Previsible's integrated consulting model comes in. Previsible draws from a collective 40 years of SEO and digital marketing experience to unlock your organic growth opportunities. They build custom solutions that combine strategy, technical expertise, content, and reporting to effectively operationalize SEO for your business.
