What are the opening procedures for the Fairfax County Board of Zoning Appeals meeting?

Unknown 0:32
He matters, uh to be presented by members this morning. If not, I'll review our procedures for those of you who have not been here before. Once your case is called, if you would step up to the microphone um at the podium and I will ask that anyone wishing to speak to that particular case stand, raise their right hand and face the clerk on your left to take an oath. Once that's done the applicant will be asked to state their name and address for the record. And whether or not they reaffirmed the affidavit as previously submitted. The applicant will then be asked to have a seat in the front row while we get the location and report from staff. Once we've heard the staff report, the applicant will be given up ten minutes to give their justification for whatever it is they are seeking today.
Unknown 1:24
It's limited to ten minutes because we have these detailed staff reports. which contain the justification in them, but the applicant should feel free to add to that if they would like to do so. I'll then ask if there is anyone who wishes to speak to the application. If you've not already signed up uh to speak, please do so with the clerk. Um at the desk on your left here. Each individual speaker will be given up to three minutes in which to to speak, and if you represent a citizens association, you'll have up to five minutes. Uh if there are speakers in opposition, the applicant or the applicant's agent will be given up to five minutes of rebuttal time. Once you've spoken you cannot come back to speak unless you're asked to do so by a member of this board.

Thank you. Good morning, Madam Chair and members of the board. I'm Brandon Lesco for the Department of Planning and Development, and the applicants request a special permit to permit a fence greater than four feet in height in the front yard adjacent to Chestnut Hill Avenue. The thirty thousand one hundred and seventy square foot approximately rectangularly shaped corner lot is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Idlewood Road and Chestnut Hill Avenue, east of I-495 and west of Idol Lane in the Carolina subdivision and Falls Church. It should be noted that the property is a result of a consolidation of portions of numerous smaller lots, specifically 78 through 94, all originally platted in the early early 20th century before the adoption of the county's first subdivision and zoning ordinances.
Brandon Lesko 4:59
The subject properties zoned R one and surrounding properties are zoned R one, R three, PDH three, and PDH four and developed the single family dwellings built in the early two thousands.
