So This didn't make the agenda because it came in too late. Apparently Uh came into it literally late last week. Uh Parks and Wreck got extra funding. Uh uh funding allocated for what they can use to demolish a what is a non contributing building.
uh in the Buckland Historical district. Um it's part of the net and still of property. It was in nineteen sixties. Uh circa nineteen sixties concrete block house that was their Um, when they obviously when they acquired the property they that's one of the things that they acquired. They don't have program funds to restore it because what they are are going to use from their budget are for the two historic houses they have and uh and and their discussions and there what they've expressed to to us. is that they don't have enough funding to restore that building which needs it's also a little bit green and dilapidated and we need restoration work much like the historic building. So it makes more sense for them to demolish the building.
Um according to you know, the question comes, does if it's a non contributing building, does it have to go through the same process and the cr and the answer to that is yes, because I looked at the zoning ordinance which says that any building in the Buckland Historic district that's going to be altered, demolished, etcetera, will require a COA. So because we're doing any building they'll have to do a process a certificate of appropriateness application which the ARB will have to hear. Um and um
What motions were made and approved at the start of the meeting?
That They wanna come in June for that. We ask them to come tonight. I'm disappointed that they're not here tonight because we asked them to be here. Justin didn't they seem and indicated that they would come and talk to you more specifically about their plan. Um but since they're not here they're gonna wanna come in June. And if not June, July they've asked. So that's what they've asked uh Yeah. So We will have a C O A that the V A or B will need to hear from from them. So I hope the uh wrecking ball isn't too volumable. Okay.

you would get basically the dispatch at least the week before the meeting. uh with a staff report like we've always done. We'll do a presentation. um, that'll have photos. You know, one of the things I've asked them is, you know, that was asked and they did provide it. I haven't had a time to look at it 'cause I've I've been elsewhere, I mean I've been, you know, dealing with other things. You know. One, you know Yeah, how are you gonna demolish this? you know, going to tell us how you're gonna do that, you know. and justin asked for a limited disturbance, you know, for, you know, possible understanding if if the archaeological remains would be possible where that could they be impacted, where would that be?
Uh see it's really close to the other house. If you don't
like it Well, that's why I asked 'em. They need to tell us how they're gonna demolish it, you know. Um, it's gotta be fairly sensitive enough that it doesn't impact in any way the historic building. Uh And because it's a non contributing building, theoretically, you know, we're we're looking at the the historic resources of the district, right? So if you remove something that you know, post period significance of the district, theoretically you're kind of improving the historical Yeah.
