So some of this might have to do with what it is you're funding.

If you want, without a shadow of a doubt, that that amount will double in 20 years, then maybe it makes sense to put it in an E-E bond, which is considered, quote-unquote, safe.

Nothing is ever risk-free, but safe.

compared to stocks that every day you might sign in and see little Billy's account up or down or sideways depending on the day.

So there is an element to where that could make sense for someone.

But I think what Logan's getting at is if you have a 20 year time horizon, a lot of times that means you're able to take a lot more risk because you don't have that volatility that can really hit you.

And historically, we have seen markets tend to perform well.

The other thing about EE bonds that's a little bit unique and worth mentioning is they'll only let you do $10,000 a year into these.

So if you received a large inheritance and you're looking for somewhere quote unquote safe to put it, you can't necessarily use EE bonds unless you want to do it over 10 years.

You might have to look at using a different type of bond or different type of vehicle or potentially looking to add a different asset class.

Might be stocks, might be real estate, might be a REIT, might be Bitcoin.
