And again, very much with the tradition of medicinal tonics, which was like a thing back then, you know, you had these carts, you know, like snake oil and all kinds of stuff.
So he's trying to pitch this to a broader audience.
And this includes workers and miners who associate beer with something a little bit hearty and satisfying.
So what does he do?
He rebrands Root Tea to Root Beer.
And the formula isn't brand new, but it's a commercial take on an existing tradition of putting these things together.
But the name is kind of like a stroke of marketing genius because at the exhibition, there's the stand with frothy glasses.
People walk up skeptical.
He hands them a drink.
It's sweet.
It's herbal.
It's foamy.
It's refreshing.
It's non-alcoholic.
And it feels like beer.
And for the people who are temperance advocates and the folks who still want to participate in the ritual of drinking without the booze, it really kind of hits the mark.
I guess, you know, kind of.
