You know, what I'm eating has a connection with how my body functions, how my cells function and how I feel and how my body looks.

And my mom at the time was being very sleuth about this because she didn't want to be overly preachy, but she would cut out newspaper articles and she would physically mail them to my apartment in college, in my dorm room and in my apartment.

Isn't that so funny?

I'm dating myself a little bit here.

The internet was obviously existent, but it just was not like how it is now.

And so she was still cutting out newspaper articles.

And I will never forget, she sent me a newspaper article.

And I remember the year because I know what apartment I was living in.

But it was in 2005.

And it was an article about hydrogenated oils, about trans fats.

That's how ahead of time she was on this.

Because fast forward, we didn't even require food companies to remove hydrogenated oils until I believe it was 2018.

Yeah.

17, 16, somewhere around there.

So then I started researching more on my own and I just got so incredibly obsessed with nutrition.

And once I got myself back on track, I just felt like, wow, I feel so good.

I want everyone to know about this.

And I was also learning about the corruption of our food industry and how much we were getting duped.

And I just felt this passion.

passion and desire to go, hey, everyone, we're being poisoned.
