Which direction am I going to go?
How long am I going to walk?
I didn't want to make that decision.
I was, I was feeling decision fatigue and it was impacting whether I took the walk or not.
Here's the hack.
The hack is something known as pre-decisions.
You make the decision once and then you don't have to make it again.
So we've got some folks in our neighborhood.
I call them the walkers.
I don't even know their names.
I've mentioned them on the podcast before.
A husband and a wife, and they go out for three walks every day, same time every day, same route every day.
They've made the pre-decision to take three walks at those particular times going this particular route.
So each day they're not faced with, hey, do you want to take the walk?
What time do you want to take the walk?
Where do you want to go?
It's the pre-decision of these three walks at these three times going in these three directions already decided.
So decision fatigue doesn't enter into the equation and they're out there regardless of the weather.
regardless of the temperature, regardless of precipitation, doesn't matter.
Three walks every day.
