And eventually it gets to a point where the parent either hits the toddler, smacks it, or tells it off.

big time or the toddler gets the lolly and it learns one of two things, right?

It learns that it either it needs to go from zero to one hundred to get what it wants or that its emotions are wrong.

and that they can't express it.

So we learn this from a very young age, but the the fight is and the challenge is being able to find people that we can open up to that do validate the feelings that we have.

Well, I think one of the things is it's all about understanding, right?

And when we want to understand someone we have to listen.

So we have to be able to engage with them.

One of the critical things I think when engaging with anyone around emotions is being able to navigate our own.

You know, it's so often helpful to listen, but sometimes the emotion that we have is too strong to listen to someone else.

So it doesn't mean that we always have to listen to someone as well.

You know, sometimes when there's things happening that we don't like the way they're talking to us or something like that, we have to be able to know boundaries.

And being able to state those really clearly.

is so important for understanding and listening.

I think it's everything right.

You have to be able to know yourself.

You have to be able to know what's causing you to do things.

I think also one of the things that's really critical to understand that we don't often talk about is the difference between emotion and the urge that we have.

So we can have all these emotions and every emotion makes us want to do something.

But that doesn't mean that we have to act.
