And yes, you can be your true self, but is that the most helpful self?

The question here is, are we in relationships with people with whom we can be our authentic selves?
I can't tell you how many people I talk to, people who are listening right now, and if I said, can you tell your loved ones how you really feel today?
Can you be open and say, I'm feeling sad?
I'm feeling lonely.
Do you have the courage to talk about it with someone?
Do you know that most people say no?
My research shows that about two-thirds of us say no.
And this is why we need to help people learn the skills, because they don't feel like there is an actual person in their life with whom they can be their true, full-feeling self.
So the final R of RULER is regulate.
It's about regulating your emotions to achieve your goals.
