Exactly.

So there was this fantastic craft book that I read when I was trying to write this book and nothing was really making sense to me.

I knew I had to have myself in it but I wasn't feeling like a hero on this hero journey's arc.

And this book is called Meander, Spiral, Explode and it talks about how a spiral structure can often work in a memoir because it's like you're repeating these patterns and you're looking at the same kind of conflict over time.

and from every angle you're turning it over and over.

And it also fit with like the actual process of a menstrual cycle.

And then I read this line that was like, in the hero's journey, that kind of narrative arc, it's kind of a bit like a male orgasm.

You come up to like one climax and then it's over.

And so then I was thinking of like this spiral structure as being like a female orgasm.

It's like repeating and building and there are more and like there's more to come.

And that was such a beautiful way to think about illness is that even if it's been so bad and so hard, I'm still here.

The story continues to go on.

It continues to repeat.

that could be pleasurable.

And so I really loved that as like that, the book became whole to me when I decided on that structure.

Yeah, yeah.

And also it allowed me to have the same

themes and patterns come back in the book, but in new ways.
