Like the feminist view of it was also like we can't consider this an illness or like all women will be damaged.
And so I needed to find some ground in between where it's like, well, this is an illness.
How do I manage to have it and not be a threat to all women?

And so I think what I was looking at with these cases was more so like how they reflected the cultural anxieties around women at the time.
What I eventually got to is it's not just what happens in this instance or what happened in this conflict, but how does all of the mass hysteria, so to speak, that surrounds these cases reflect what we think about women and what our anxieties about women and women's illness really are.

And at the same time, in that same year, a whole bunch of werewolf movies were released that were also in, some of them were in response to this idea of new age, like this anxiety of a new age kind of cultish thing.
free love kind of movement and they were like turning that into these werewolf narratives at the same time as we've got this case that reads like a werewolf narrative and there's hysterics surrounding it so I found it a very like those cultural they seem disconnected but when you actually look closely all of these cultural narratives are really they make up how we see each other.
