And, you know, there is a a duty of respect to, you know, if if the girlfriend is her primary friend, I'm assuming it's a a lady that um wrote in, then y she runs the risk of really offending and and s giving the girlfriend a sense of betrayal, you know, you've been living this double life behind my back with my own brother, what's going on?
So it is something to think about in terms of respecting those around you.
And it's not that the girlfriend has um or the the the sister I should say h has any right to know your private business, but it's more about that sense of
you know, being honest and being open and making sure the people in your life don't feel hoodwinked or or betrayed.
Um, and with the feelings around the guy himself, there's a lot of
uh mixed messages there.
She on the one hand doesn't want a relationship, on the other hand she's knowing that if he was with anyone else she'd be scared and then
there seems to be a a lack of communication there.
There's a a fear that if she talks to him uh about her feelings or about what they want for the future or what she wants for the future that she's worried that he won't be on board.
W which says to me that there's a a lot of uh compartmentalization in this relationship.
Maybe it's more of a sexual thing than it is an
emotional thing and and I'd really recommend, if possible, spending time to get to know him on other levels because that should really help her get to know what he's likely to say, what his responses are and and help her build the confidence to tell him.
Look, I think it really depends on you as an individual and how comfortable you can feel in the relationship after a rejection like that.
In some friendships, even the person that you're friends with will help you feel comfortable and help affirm that they still really value you despite not wanting to progress things and and actually reforming that.
friendship and getting back to normal as soon as possible can start the path to recovery and particularly if you start transferring your interest elsewhere, you know, start looking at other people and start dating and that sort of thing, it can really help quickly speed up the process of moving on.
Now, if it's really awkward and and your friend can't help you feel comfortable or if you just can't accept that it's not personal and it's nothing to do with how good you are, then it can be useful to take a little break from the friendship.
And I'd always say do that with a sense of, you know, it's a temporary break.
So say, look, I might need a couple of months um and then
let's meet up again and see how we go.
Um but it's really up to you.
