What we would do is not to stand back and let record levels of unemployment and people go to Australia because there are no options here to stand back.

And what this government says, they say, it's not our job to give people, ensure that people are employed or make sure there's jobs.

We just create the conditions for jobs.

That's what they say.

And we don't believe that.

We believe that there is a clear role.

That's why we have projects that are just finishing off now, like the Taratupua Cycleway in Wellington.

They're big infrastructure projects that keep the local economy going and keep people in work.
