It can't be.
There's not just one thing happening with you that makes you
Exactly.
Yeah.
Parts work has been huge, like such a part of my journey.
And it's a, it's a very big part of mind body work that I do to help us separate from our own anxiety, pain, illness, emotions.
If we have gone through life with...
experiences that take us outside of our body, which happens all the time when we have a nervous system that says like, oh, we don't know how to experience that.
So we're going to either disassociate or dysregulate.
And when we're not connected to ourselves, when we're not grounded, then our brain, our nervous system tries to grab onto something, some sort of sense of control.
That can be anxiety, that can be striving for something specific, feeling the need for control.
Part of my story is that I also dealt with an eating disorder and also then was an eating disorder therapist.
And I mean, at first, when you're going through recovery like that,
Connecting to your body, like, uh-uh, you've been pushing against your body for so long.
So sometimes in the beginning, depending on where someone's at, it could truly just be like acknowledging that you have a body, being neutral towards it.
That can bring safety in and of itself.
It can be, it's okay not to be okay sometimes.
That can be a sense of safety and signaling.
So, and let me back up for a second because the safety word is like,
thrown out a lot and I'll have clients be like, I mean, I am safe, right?
