And um, you know, there's a lot that I love about British culture, but generally very emotionally re repressed um for the most part.
And you know, certainly growing up, I was rewarded for being smart, for having an intellect, for kind of saying the right thing.
But any time that like if I cried, I'd get teased at school.
If I was angry, you'd get punished by teachers.
Like the the the full spectrum of emotions are just kind of like compressed down in a way that you don't even realize what you've lost.

Yeah, I love that.
And for me it's like it's like dropping down like down a layer to something that feels more real often.
And I think I know exactly what you mean that you can feel like you're like very busy, you know, got a bunch of things to do.
Um and I think this applies to all emotions actually.
It it never feels like there's a
there's a convenient time to feel.
Um and I've started, you know, for the last few years, I kind of have a practice on the weekends where I just set aside time to
give space for if there is something that wants to come through, then
I'll allow it to I'll allow it to move and not kind of gunk up the pipes, so to speak.
And um you know, I notice that when I when I stop doing that or when I don't make time to feel stuff, then it comes out, you know, maybe I'm more short with my wife, maybe I have less patience, maybe I overreact in certain ways.
It almost feels like there's this kind of like emotional hygiene that if you let it build up for enough period of time, and I think of this as like emotional.
Debt.
Like you it's fine to buffer for a period of time, but if it kind of keeps on accumulating at some point.
it's going to either like pop out in a really kinked way, or I believe at least it creates fragility in the nervous system.
