I went back to some of the places that were most meaningful to us as a way to process parts of the relationship and parts of my identity.
And I think what, you know, there were different layers to the grief as well.
One of the layers was that, you know, I thought that I had the next like five or 10 years of like, we're going to move to this place and have kids.
And like my whole life trajectory just kind of self combusted.
Yeah.
And suddenly it's letting go of all of that as well.
Yeah.
Letting go of all of that and not have, you know, the person that I would be processing the grief around who was closest to me is not there.
Yeah.
And it's really just a,
was such a learning process and then there was one moment um that i viscerally remember where i was walking to towards her memorial bench at a place called liever sands and um as i was getting closer and closer i felt this like these like waves of grief coming up and as i reached the bench it's almost like i just let it like
obliterate me in a way it just like moved through I fell to my knees and there was there was this sense of um almost like joy like the felt sensation was joy and aliveness and energy and I remember it was like this is weird because grief is meant to be such a tough shitty thing and at the same time when I
stop resisting the grief moving through it was like whoa i just feel so much love i just felt felt all of the love that i had for sophie yeah and that moving through and my my theory this isn't scientific scientifically validated but the five stages of grief
I think that those stages are just the ways that the intensity of the grief gets kinked in our system.
I know you've had Joe Hudson on and he talks about the ways anger gets kinked, can be repressed or overexpressed.
And I think the denial, the anger, they're all ways in which we resist allowing the intensity of the grief to move through.
I can try.
I mean, I'll say that there isn't really a commonly agreed upon definition of emotions, even in neuroscience.
There's a lot of, it's very contested territory.
Okay.
