Hello my friends and welcome back to another episode of the Balance It Method podcast. I'm your host, Tamara, and I have to apologize to you. I completely screwed up this episode. Uh it was supposed to air last week. And I just had so much on my plate that this is something I chose to put off for a week.
Tamara 1:38
I didn't go into the week intending to put it off, but uh that's how things turned out. Usually I like to batch my episodes way far ahead so that these kinds of things don't happen. But things got caught up in the end of the school year craziness and the end of June Sember, as I call it. Um and anyway, we're back. And for our return episode, I wanted to go back and start at the very beginning of the Balance It method and when I was starting to develop these frameworks for myself. And this was what we're gonna talk about today, is really the first part that things started to click for me.

How does the host define practical, intentional energy planning for a week?

Tamara 2:25
So back when I was in the that state of constant overwhelm and survival mode and just trying to get through every day and really hating motherhood and how it felt because it was so much responsibility and so much on my plate. That when I started to do what we're gonna talk about today, it was the first time that I felt like I had a bit of balance, like I had a bit of control back. And so if you are that mom right now that has been listening along but hasn't really adopted any of the things that we've talked about in other episodes, this is where you should start. If you're not ready to build out your ideal week, which is what we do inside the simplified week workshop, which I'll link up below if you're interested in checking that out, where we figure out your time blocks and all of that sort of thing.
Tamara 3:19
If you're not wanting to get that advanced right yet, this is where you can start. So when I was doing this in the beginning, I was really looking at the way that my week planned pl panned out. So I would write down all of the things that I had going on and I started to separate

all of the things that I had going on and I started to separate those tasks into categories and then I further separated those down into three different categories which is what I now use as our energy categories that we work within for the balance it method in order to ensure that we're honoring our energy and and not burning ourselves out as we're getting things done. And so when we start to assign an energy to each day of the week. we are focusing solely on that energy for that day. Now that doesn't mean that other energies don't come into play. The other two might be involved in that day. But your main focus if things start to go sideways is to go back to focusing on that energy. So let's break it down so that you can

further understand what I'm talking about here. So there are three energy categories that we work within in the balance it method. The prod the productive energy
