So the combatant commanders system, the current system was established under Goldwater Nichols. Reorganize the combatant commands. You don't need, I believe, Congress to get involved. However, there was one idea floated in this article that I think is very dangerous. And this is idea of a joint task force war, which it doesn't seem like is an option now, but that would give more power to to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff operational control, which in my view would be against Goldwater-Nichols. But again, I don't think the secretary or the White House is supporting that, to be clear.
