Episode 5079: Tina Peters Assaulted And Charged With Felony; Controversial AI Policy
19 Jan 2026
Chapter 1: What happened to Tina Peters and why was she charged with a felony?
fund managers for the Florida pension funds, which, as you know, is enormous. And he said, hey, from now on, you're not going to just give your vote to Larry Fink. We're going to vote that from the state of Florida. That was a shocker. I think he's the first governor to step up and said, we're just not going to we're not giving our proxy to Larry Fink.
Right. We're going to actually vote.
I, the governor of Florida. Don't forget, Jimmy Petronas was the chief financial officer of the state of Florida. He's now a congressman, Petronas, but he was on board with DeSantis saying, BlackRock, they're evil.
Vanguard, BlackRock, and one or two in State Street. The three biggest companies that control trillions, not billions, trillions of Americans' pension money are totally invested in DEI, climate change, and other woke nonsense companies.
Man, I hope this thing, I hope we get eight or 16 more years of either Marco or Vance or Pete Hegseth or Steve Bannon, whoever it is, a MAGA right in America first person.
Whoa, whoa. Dude, I got to follow you in the afternoon. I can't be wasting time over 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Eric, one more time. I love the concept of the edge and nobody's better. to do it than you, that you thrive on adrenaline. You're an adrenaline junkie. You're a pressure junkie. This show sounds amazing. Where do people get it?
Just go to YouTube and type in Eric Bolling and The Edge, and it's off the charts, Steve. We hit a nerve.
We hit a nerve or a vein, if you want to call it that, and people are really responding to it.
I appreciate that shout-out.

Chapter 2: What details are known about the assault on Tina Peters in prison?
I think we're going to have Tina Peters' lawyer. There's been an event around. An issue around Tina Peters I want to get to, but there's a lot going on. Joe Allen's going to join me. Here's what let's do. Let's do the cold open and then we'll have the open of the border.
Let's hit it. Alliances endure because they're built on respect and partnership, not pressure. That is why I said the use of tariffs against allies is completely wrong. It is not the right way to resolve differences within an alliance.
Honestly, they must wake up every day and wonder if this is the reality that they're living in or if they just are living in the upside down or something right now, because none of this makes any sense. Back here at home, it appears the insanity and frankly, the danger of this moment might actually be getting to some of the people who could stop this president. Republicans on Capitol Hill.
I think Donald Trump's only doctrine is power. I think he wants to dominate. People talk about him as being transactional. He's not transactional. He wants every transaction to end with you admitting that he is more powerful than you and can do what he wants. And the Greenland example is a perfect illustration of this.
he could have the united states can do anything it wants to do in greenland in terms of protecting it from russia or china or any other potential threat with the full cooperation of long-standing and reliable allies like denmark he doesn't want that he wants to take it he wants to commit an act of territorial aggression against an american ally so for him i just think it's about he wants to be world emperor
and be able to basically boss around every country that is willing to be bossed around. Of course, he's not in the business of bossing around tough countries like Vladimir Putin's Russia or Xi Jinping's China. To ask if that is just an admission from the administration that their agents, their federal officers, can do whatever they want, can just do whatever they want. When J.D.
Vance said they have absolute immunity, is that them saying, get in our way and if we kill you, not our problem? Well, I mean, if you're looking at the totality, let's go back to totality of other circumstances, including the January 6th pardons, including many other pardons from Trump. This is we're looking at a pattern.
And the pattern is if you are a Trump ally, if you're doing what Trump asks. then the law doesn't apply to you. If you're a Trump enemy, a Trump opponent, or even if he just perceives you as an opponent, then he's going to wield the full power of the government against you, often in lawless ways.
This is a pattern from day one, and I think it's a mistake to just look at this one shooting and try... Just look at this one shooting in isolation. We have to look at this in context, and the context is very clear. It's impunity for his allies, and it is punishment for his opponents.

Chapter 3: How is the legal team responding to Tina Peters' situation?
uh it to the uh if they do not agree and if they do not work with the us on supposedly purchasing greenland as you laid out these countries are not interested in that at all i mean denmark and norway and all the other european allies have made very clear that this is not something that is on the table and that it would be dangerous and that it could potentially um break apart nato
So what do you advise people, given the threats that they're facing now to protest, given that a woman was shot and killed, given that they're being pepper-sprayed in the face, they're being physically taken from their cars, they're being injured, in some cases detained unlawfully, how do you advise people to practice this right?
As MLK put it, the greatness of America is the right to protest for right.
Right. I think that's an important conversation to have today. And I think that there's going to be different levels for people to engage themselves. And some people like Dr. King were willing to give their life for the ultimate struggles of the community, and which she did.
And so in some cases, you should not hamper the individuals from carrying out their forces. And videotaping individuals from a distance is not a problem. You can record them. There is no law that says you cannot record them. You should be a reasonable distance away, and if they instruct you to move away, continue to record and move away in that instance.
But it is our right under the Constitution to protest. And this sort of conversation around protesting not being American isn't consistent with the history of our country or consistent with the teachings of Dr. King. His last book was on community of chaos, and this chaos, this fear-driven community that we're doing in Minnesota and Minneapolis is exactly what will drive us to our end.
Rather than trying to neutralize, sending more officers to this place does not solve the problem. It just exacerbates it.
Is that your account? No. I refuse to answer questions without my lawyer present. So I really don't know how to answer that question either. Like I said, you're not going to do it.
This is freedom of speech. This is America, right? And I agree with you 100%. We're just trying to see if it's you. We're not talking to the right person. We want to go see who the right person is.

Chapter 4: What are the implications of AI policies being discussed in the episode?
That is it. I'm going to maintain my amendment rights to... not answer the question about whether or not that's right. I hope that's understandable to you. Thank you as well. You as well. Thank you. Take care.
This is the primal scream of a dying regime. Pray for our enemies because we're going medieval on these people. I got a free shot on all these networks lying about the people. The people have had a belly full of it. I know you don't like hearing that. I know you've tried to do everything in the world to stop that, but you're not going to stop it. It's going to happen.
And where do people like that go to share the big lie? Mega media. I wish in my soul, I wish that any of these people had a conscience.
Ask yourself, what is my task and what is my purpose? If that answer is to save my country, this country will be saved.
War Room. Here's your host, Stephen K. Bann.
Monday, 19 January, Year of Our Lord, 2026, Martin Luther King Day. Right there you see in Miami, they're going door to door on your Facebook post. Pretty scary. I tell you what's scary is what's happening, and really scary is what's happening in Colorado. Peter Tickton, the lead lawyer for Tina Peters, joins us. There's all types of reports coming out, tweets coming out.
Tina Peters has been assaulted in prison, and was she charged with a felony? before getting assaulted, sir? Can you clear it up for us?
Yeah. You know, normally I like to greet you with a nice smile, but it's kind of hard to smile right now. Yeah, she basically went into a closet where it's like a water closet where she had to fill a container with some water. And a 20-year-old inmate came in behind her and started to attack her from behind. She pushed this person out of the way and was defending herself.
The part where she was defending herself was seen. So they're basically charging her. They put her in the hole for an undetermined amount of time. It's not like they're polite and kind and say, you have to be here for three days or one day or whatever. So we don't know how long she's going to be there. Last time they put her in there, they put her in for 15 days.

Chapter 5: How do different coalitions view the future of AI regulation?
Okay, because what's going on there now, we've got the governor finally agreeing that the sentence that Tina Peters received was harsh. Of course it was harsh. It was completely unreasonable. And now we have three judges of the Court of Appeals looking like they very much agree with that issue, that the sentence is not even a legal sentence. And so they're on the verge of,
reversing some of these charges and reversing, or some of the convictions and some of the charges and the sentencing. At the same time, we've got Judge Polis finally saying that it's too harsh. And then we've got the real criminals. We've got Weiser and Griswold, Jana Griswold, who, and I say she's a criminal, They admit that they did what they did.
They admit that she was responsible for going into 20, I'm sorry, 62 counties. And... going into 62 counties and basically deleting the information which is contrary to federal law. She could get a year for each one of those. So Jenna Griswold is truly a criminal. And what she's doing is she's putting all of the emphasis on Tina Peters for basically saving the evidence.
And, you know, now, so we've got a little bit of a divergence between Jenna Griswold and Weiser, who are basically saying, keep her in prison. The real criminals say keep the non-criminal in prison while Governor Polis is saying, hey, I'm the governor. You want to make these decisions, you run for governor. Thank God. Meanwhile, so what's going on?
Then all of a sudden somebody attacks her in prison.
I don't have any evidence. Hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on. We're going to get to take a short break. Peter Tickton. the lead counsel for Tina Peters. Tina Peters was attacked and then charged for the attack, put in the hole, the special housing unit, solitary confinement, next in the war room.

Chapter 6: What concerns are raised about AI's impact on children and society?
Make sure you text Bannon to 989898. Do it today.
Here's your host, Stephen K. Bannon.
Okay. We'll kind of try to reboot Peter Tickton and see if we can get a clearer signal. Long story short, Tina Peters was attacked by, they're accusing her of the attack. They put her in what they call the special housing unit, the SHU, S-H-U, which is solitary confinement. And we're going to get to the bottom of all this.
As Peter laid out, Jenna Griswold, the Secretary of State, Weiser, I think the Attorney General, they're arguing she should serve to the end of her term. Even Polis is getting weak on that by commuting the sentence, and you have an appellate court. So Peter Tickton and the legal team Pat McSweeney and all of them are working this thing nonstop. Peter, can you just give it to us one more time?
Tina was attacked when she tried to fight off the attack.
Unprovoked.
And they put Tina in the shoe in the solitary. This is what I don't understand. Have they charged Tina with the assault?
That's my understanding is they are charging her with a felony assault. Yes So this is Peter what could be done
you got a federal pardon from the president. Is there anything, I understand Polis is thinking about a commutation. You got this panel that's reviewing it. It's an illegal process, but is there anything the president's given you through you working with him, a federal pardon, understand they got to argue that up to the courts or whether, whether it applies here or not.

Chapter 7: What is the current status of the legal proceedings involving Tina Peters?
Uh, but the fact of the matter is, is that the wrong people are in prison. So she wants them to stay in. She's been very vocal, vocal by she, I mean, Janet Griswold is very vocal on the fact that Tina Peters needs to stay in prison. The governor is saying, Hey, look, if you want to be the governor, you know, run for governor right now, I'm the governor. I have to make these decisions.
And I think the sentence was too harsh. So then all of a sudden, out of the blue, we have a 20-year-old that attacks her completely unprovoked. I mean, Tina Peters was in this water closet filling up something with water, minding her own business. And all of a sudden, this woman comes behind her and starts attacking her.
And to defend herself, she turns around and basically deals with the situation. And you're right, she's the one that gets charged. So why? Is that to interfere with the governor giving her clemency? Is that the purpose of this? Is this what we're seeing in real life, playing out that somebody in that prison or is just a crazy person in prison that's just attacking her for no reason whatsoever?
One way or the other, that they threw her in the hole with nothing to read, nothing to do, just, you know, like really in the hole. This is just amazing.
Solitary is to break you psychologically. It's a tough thing.
Well, there are people that think that they want to kill her in prison.
Peter, where do people go to find out more? Where do they go to get more information to support you and your efforts to free Tina Peters? What's the website?
It's tinapeters.us.
Okay, perfect.

Chapter 8: How can listeners support Tina Peters and stay informed?
Thank you, sir. And we're not doing anything about it, basically. Maine Justice, I have no idea what Maine Justice is doing, sending people around to hassle people about their Facebook page. Certainly we're not seeing any effort on this whatsoever. Strongly worded letters. Today we had on the chairman of the Armed Services Committee, Brian Mass, congressman from Florida. Joe Allen joins us.
Joe, we're going to have the Daily Signal reporter here in a moment. But you see from Mast, the most hotly contested issue kind of behind the scenes is now bubbling to the surface. But the biggest issue people are fighting for behind the scenes is this issue of artificial intelligence, chips, who gets them, who doesn't.
Set the framework here before I bring in Elizabeth Mitchell from the Daily Signal. Well, Steve, you've got a really dissonant mood here in Washington, D.C. I mean, as we'll soon hear from Elizabeth Mitchell, there are just so many different perspectives and approaches to this. But the main division, I would say, is between the accelerationist camp and
who want to use artificial intelligence, they say, to improve people's lives, build the economy. But you have all of these other, I think, far more sensible perspectives on what are the dangers? What are the downsides? What are we trading for this grand AI revolution? So on the note of the chips, on the exports, the Overwatch Act, which is really among the most sensible bills to come up on this.
The Gain Act was good. Restrict Act was good. But the Overwatch Act simply calls for restrictions on any chips that are going out to adversaries. They want congressional oversight. just like they do with any other military components on any AI capable chips going to adversaries such as China.
As it's been pointed out, you had a crazed right wing influencer campaign in which people who never cared about chips or AI or exports suddenly gained an interest and in very similar language began to call this some sort of boon for China or some means of subverting the president's power to export.
If the audience wants to read that, it is an excellent piece put out by Model Republic in association with Midas Touch by Tyler Johnston. Fantastic look at this synthetic influencer operation. But the nuts and bolts, Steve, the nuts and bolts is just simply this.
If we are in some kind of existential race against China, as people like David Sachs have claimed, then we have absolutely no interest whatsoever, whether it's military or commercial uses. We have no interest in sending chips to China. The only people who would benefit Aside from the Chinese themselves would be NVIDIA and also anyone pushing for AI acceleration against China.
It then justifies the acceleration. It justifies the reckless development and rampant deployment of AIs that most people really don't want to begin with. As we say about AI and maybe guardrails or whatever, the sine qua non, the thing you have to do first is a complete shutdown of China and the entire ecosystem. Of course, it's no sale whatsoever of any chips.
