You guys pick up so much of the slack. So I'm really grateful and happy to be joining from the Milwaukee airport today. And we've got a big show actually strikes launched military strikes against Iran launched just in July. the hours before we begin recording this. So we're going to break down updates from Iran, and we have much more to get to. Ryan, as well, you have a huge slate of guests lined up. So Robert Pink is going to be here, going to cover that ice shooting. There's so much to get to this morning.
Yeah, Juan David Rojas will be here to talk about who the man was who was shot by ICE agents in Maine. Another Mexican man was hit by a truck in Florida after an encounter with ICE. Emily will stick around with us to talk about that. the New York ban on data centers, or at least a moratorium on data centers. We're going to also talk about an interview we did yesterday on Dropsite with Ro Khanna, where he and Jeremy Scahill went back on the legitimacy of armed resistance, as well as whether or not there should be a full arms embargo on Israel. We'll also have news in that, Julie and Andrew Owen from And Dropsite News interviewed AOC about whether or not she supports an arms embargo. And she said, in fact, yes, she does.
At the back end of the show, we'll be joined by Donovan McKinney, who's a DSA and Justice Democrats-backed candidate running in Detroit. who is very likely to oust an incumbent in early August. So you're going to want to stick around for that. We'll also ask him about the Abdul El-Sayed Haley Stevens race, the Will Lawrence race, which is getting hot in Michigan as well. Wanted to start with some... I guess we're going to call it good news. What led up to it is not good news, but the event this morning is, in fact, great news. Mujahid al-Sadi, a very well-respected, well-regarded veteran journalist in the West Bank who's written for Dropsite as well. was finally released after nearly two years, and we put up A7, of administrative detention in Israeli custody.
In other words, no charges whatsoever were ever filed against Mujahid. He last wrote for Dropsite in... September of 2024, here he is being reunited with his father. Again, there are thousands of Palestinians, many, many journalists, and here he is meeting his family on the road after being dropped off. who are able, under the Israeli, let's call it law, to be able to be kept in prison for six months on what they call administrative detention, meaning zero charges, no right to challenge your detention.
