Chapter 1: What is the Idea Cards Game and how does it work?
Welcome everybody. For those of you who don't know what's going on, if you listen to the last step, we came up with an idea where we randomly... We've done it before. Yeah. What to say? All right. Well, both Joe and I have got cards on our walls because we're writers. Yuck. We've got stuff written on the cards and we're asking... the other person to pick a card.
We don't know what's on the card, but it might sort of suggest something to talk about.
Chapter 2: What happened when someone knocked on David's flat door?
And the last one I said was being kicked out your flat. And David went, I've got a story on that.
Well, I don't know if I've ever told you this. It's not very interesting, but it's linked to the card. When I was living with Mike, I was out for the night and a guy knocked on our flat door and he had a gun. And he was going, get out of the flat. He had a gun on him.
What the fuck? Well, it's a massive bit of the... I'll tell you what it hinges on. This being a fucking mad story or not.
He either had a gun or a knife. I'm sure he had a gun. And I was out. And, yeah, I don't want to go into the details. But I was out. I came back. Police around our flat. He had been arrested. Okay, that's the start of the story. I then said to Noe, we've got to move.
Was that in Brighton? Yeah. Just around the corner from you. Yeah. That's what I was thinking. Yeah. So, right, so someone knocked on your door aggressively with a gun. They thought they were getting hold of someone else or something.
I don't know. That's just a lunatic.

Chapter 3: What are some strange experiences David had with neighbors?
I can't imagine Mike doing anything.
We had a lot of lunatics in our... How many years ago?
Do you call them lunatics?
You do. You definitely did back then.
How many years ago? Because Petra always tells me that it's quite nice around here now. But we'd go down these really nice roads. She'd go, this used to be rough here.
This would have been 2010 or 11. Oh, it's not that long.
No. Wow. Where was this flat? Around the corner from you. That one, that was that one, yeah. Yeah. Bloody hell.
Down the bottom, absolute nut. There was always blood on the floor as you came in. Fuck me. Oh, blood, blood, blood.
I moved into a flat in Tooting and I walked past the pub the day we moved in, the day I was helping us, and there was a, I think I've told you this, like a sweep of blood on the pub window. As I was moving into my new flat. Like a hand? No, more like a jet of blood had gone. Oh my God, like a splatter. Yeah.

Chapter 4: How did David deal with a broken bone incident he witnessed?
It's all right. And I don't know if he was saying it because he didn't realize it was fucking insane. Or trying to calm you down. Or trying to calm me down. I should ask him, actually. Yeah. He's going to remember that. Do you remember 20-odd years ago? Were you calming me down? Yeah. Do you remember you saying it's all right in here, isn't it? In a pub. Which is now a lovely Polish deli.
And where was this pub? Tooting. It was the only pub, it was quite a weird pub because it had, I've never seen it, you don't see it often, but there was a pub and next to it there was like a thing that was like a bookies in the pub. Like the pub had a bookmaker in it. It was that pub, that sort of pub. I remember thinking that was odd. There was like a hatch to a bookmaker's.
Chapter 5: What are the Americana Sessions that David refers to?
Yeah.
And a jet of blood across the window. Next card, please.
I've got something else to tell you about that flat.
Go on, this is wonderful.
Me and Nomi were there, and my mate was travelling in Thailand, and we had a new neighbour move in underneath, and she was just a bit odd. Anyway, I don't know how it happened, but me and Nomi are there. My mate's not there. Knock on the door. Knock on the door. Oh, hello. Oh, hello. I've just moved in. I was wondering if I could just have a look round and sort of...
have a look around your house and sort of compare it to flat and compare it to my flat, really.
I would have gone, yeah, of course, but then later.
Yeah, I did. I went, yeah, of course, in my head. What? She then gets a video camera out and just walks around every room. Could I go into the bedroom, please?
Yeah, absolutely, yeah.

Chapter 6: How did David's music career evolve during the Americana Sessions?
No, that's right. He knocked on my door. It was really strange. And it was about half 11 at night saying, you're flooding into my flat. But he was dressed as a Cub Scout leader at half 11 at night.
I think we were going to put this into a script, actually.
I'm sure we were. I never see, like, he was not a fucking Cub Scout leader. There's no way.
So he just got back from a session with the Cubs?
I don't know. But half 11 at night, I don't... Oh, yeah.
What does a Cub Scout leader look like?
Well, they've got like a... Like a woggle and a... It's not a scarf, but it's like a rolled up thing and badges and whatever. And what did he say to you? You're leaking into my flat downstairs again. Again. I was always leaking into his flat.
Yeah.
If you put that in a sitcom, you wouldn't believe it.

Chapter 7: What challenges did David face while writing songs?
She got in contact with me and she said I'm their niece. They're really lovely. Three sisters? Three sisters live in the flat opposite me. Brenda, Valerie and Rose. Oh, dear. Lovely. Always offering to do my washing.
But they didn't like Petra?
No.
Well, I'm apolog... If you listen, I'm so sorry, niece. But... So, I... My Hoover didn't work. And I... So, I... In the morning, I'd sort of gone, oh, sorry, Valerie, can I borrow your Hoover? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cool, no worries. Thank you. Hoovered up, put it back. Later that afternoon, Petra spilt something, and she said, oh, I just used the Girls Over the Ways Hoover. She knocked on the door.
Hello, sorry, I'm Joe's girlfriend. Can I borrow your Hoover? He said, and they went, we don't have a Hoover. Yeah. Shut the door on her. Really?
Yeah. I wonder if it's because they're threatened by her. Yeah. And they relight you.

Chapter 8: What are David's thoughts on performing live music?
Yeah, I think it was that. Well, it must be, mustn't it? Yeah, it was. I didn't want to say. No, but do you think that?
Yeah.
Yeah, well, I do.
Yeah. Is that cocky?
Well, I think that.
Well, we're at a closeness. you want to pick a card bottom uh left uh second to left pink that way yeah or that way no the other way what that way that way that way yeah yeah injured help injured oh well injured help Well, I might have told it when I saw someone playing tennis with my friend Stuart and I heard that ungodly scream.
