How does AI‑driven short‑termism affect brand marketing and demand generation?
If you look at what AI and marketing is doing, it's often often a return to short termism. It's often a return to, you know, what can we use AI to do to create programs that will generate sales that pop? The challenge is to make sure that we use the analytics wisely and we use it in a balanced way. What you want to do is to create what we call demand marketing. That's the short term result. results and brand marketing, which is building the brand asset, we have to work in uh as partners. And so we have to make sure that the demand marketing is done in a fa in a way that enhances and leverages brand assets and doesn't damage them.

David Acker is globally recognized as the father of modern branding. He is the vice chairman at Profit, Professor Emeritus at the Hart School of Business at UC Berkeley and author of 18 groundbreaking books that have transformed businesses think of how that have transformed how businesses think about brands, leadership and long term growth. These frameworks have influenced some of
the world's biggest organizations and his ideas continue to shape the future of purpose-driven branding, storytelling, and strategic positioning. From building iconic brands to helping leaders understand the emotional power of identity, trust and differentiation, David's work sits at the intersection of business growth, psychology, leading Leadership and legacy. I don't know. I think it's uh I'm not sure I'm the father of modern branding. Phil Cotler called me that and so it's kinda stuck and I'm I I owe a lot a lot to Phil Cotler and and that's that's one of my debts to him because he did that. I doesn't mean Anything really. But for a long time now, over thirty years, I've been focusing on in developing branding theories and practices and applying them in different kinds of contexts. So I'm very focused on branding. I find it a really fascinating topic. I find it an important topic because it affects a lot of things. I'm currently working on applying it to the political process, and I'm gonna have a a Video out on YouTube soon that describe my ideas in that context.
