Chapter 1: What were the highlights of the 2026 NBA All-Star Game?

0.031 - 20.602 Jay Skeets

This is an iHeart Podcast. Guaranteed human. Over the last couple years, didn't we learn that the folding chair was invented by black people because of what happened in Alabama? This Black History Month, the podcast Selective Ignorance with Mandy B unpacks black history and culture with comedy, clarity, and conversations that shake the status quo.

When you look at your car, you're going to become overwhelmed with such good feelings.

Chapter 3: Who were the standout players in the All-Star Game?

164.107 - 185.292 JD

Next to him, it's Natasha Hotboy, Trey Kirby. USAO! USAO! And over yonder, making the magic happen, super producer JD. Hello. There he is. Here we are, back on Utah, Utah, back on YouTube for the fourth time in two days, is what I was going to say. It's our fourth, really, stream.

0

185.552 - 186.513 Tass Mellis

It's like we're all stars.

0

186.713 - 206.753 JD

Yeah, it's like an all-star game. Yeah, that's right. Thanks for joining us live on YouTube, especially you sickos that have been here all weekend long. Hit the like button. Subscribe if you haven't. Share the show. Podcast listeners, we love you too. Five-star ratings and reviews. This is going to be a mini recap podcast. Somehow last night we did a 70-minute podcast on All-Star Saturday night.

0

206.974 - 207.895 JD

We were talking, Tesh.

0

Chapter 4: What were the most memorable moments from the All-Star weekend?

208.255 - 224.302 JD

Yeah. Wow. We got into it about Tesh and Ludacris. We took a weird music tangent. And then we talked about Friday night. We talked about Chris Paul retiring. So maybe that's why it got to 70 minutes. Anyway, tonight, it's a tight 20. because, man, the All-Star game is back and we're just pumped.

0

225.524 - 245.72 JD

After a scorching hot win over Team World, Team Stripes faced a young Team Stars, which didn't let its foot off the gas from the tip of the championship game. Maxi scored like a quick seven points in the first three minutes. Team Stars led 12-1. Mitch Johnson finally called the timeout. But Team Stars, man, they didn't give up.

0

245.8 - 258.916 JD

They had a 20-point lead at one point in that final game, maxing nine points. Anthony Edwards, eight. Jalen Duren, six. They got the 47-21 win. Anthony Edwards takes home the MVP honors. Tass Mellis, you're smiling.

0

Chapter 5: How did Victor Wembanyama impact the game?

259.557 - 278.795 JD

You had a good time, and you were always saying, this might work, this is going to work. Do you think it was just the format? Do you think it was just the case that a couple of the guys took it a little more seriously, a bit of both? What do you think? It's probably John Tesh to start the night. Yeah, probably. His hair would look good. His hair looked great. It was flowing.

0

278.915 - 301.509 JD

Yes, I think it was just guys trying harder. Whether it was USA Team 1 or USA Team 2, Stars, Stripes, or just playing the international team, which was led by Victor Weminyaba, I think the biggest difference from last year, which I thought Game 1 was really good last year before they started going off the rails, literally an hour just hanging out. Wemby was starting tonight last year.

0

301.529 - 322.362 JD

He was coming off the bench. That was strange. But those were those moments in last year's game where he literally was blown by on the perimeter and came back for a recovery block. I mean, he did that from the get go in this game. Right. The number of possessions guys were super scared on the USA side of going near the lane in game one. to just get out on the perimeter.

0

322.402 - 326.227 JD

You could see it all, the entire game, the entire 12 minutes.

0

Chapter 6: What were the overall grades for the All-Star Game and events?

326.267 - 335.118 JD

I guess Wemby played 10 or whatever. It was just fun to watch Victor Weminyama play basketball. And yeah, it started with him.

0

335.258 - 336.319 Trey Kirby

It literally started with him.

0

336.339 - 354.022 JD

Absolutely. And Anthony Edwards said it twice. He said it after the first game where they win, and then he said it again when he got his MVP honors after the championship. Yep. Wemby said, I'm going to play hard at All-Star Weekend. And everybody from the U.S. said, good, we're not going to let you beat us. And that's what it came down to. This was awesome. This completely worked.

0

354.102 - 369.162 JD

I don't know if it was the format or Wemby coming out and being like, yeah, I'm actually going to try hard here. And then, you know, KD getting in his feelings a little bit, getting called out as the old guys and saying, look at Luka and Jokic. They don't do anything. And they literally didn't do anything tonight. Played five minutes and then chilled for the rest of the time.

0

369.202 - 370.424 JD

At least Luka did an interview.

Chapter 7: What announcements were made for the upcoming live podcast in Austin?

0

370.724 - 393.34 JD

Jokic was just sitting there. Couldn't even bring himself to smile during intros going Derrick Rose on him. Luka interview was hilarious also because they asked him, Wemby looked really mad after that game, after the game winner hit in his face and the rotation. Did he say anything after the game? He said, I didn't wait for that. I had to go back and get treatment. So is that his excuse?

0

393.881 - 403.053 JD

I'm hurt. So I'm not playing anymore. That's the excuse, I guess. Both of those guys could sort of have still. Yeah, whatever. Whatever. They don't care about All-Star Weekend. We get it.

0

403.073 - 404.014 Tass Mellis

Yeah, I don't think they ever will.

0

404.034 - 407.319 JD

Those guys playing less, Wemby playing more. Yeah. Was good.

Chapter 8: How does the All-Star weekend compare to previous years?

407.699 - 429.469 JD

And look, the All-Star game was the best part of All-Star Weekend. When was the last time that's ever happened? Absolutely. I mean, this is definitely the best game since 2020, if not before. But this is exciting. Like, the 2020 dunk contest was at least good. That was Aaron Gordon versus Derek Jones Jr., I believe. I thought Saturday night was pretty solid. Like, not a bummer Saturday night.

0

429.509 - 445.018 JD

Three stars out of five. Sure. But the all-star game was, likeโ€” Four and a half stars. This was a bummer of an end game, but nobody's going to remember that. They're going to remember the first three. The ones that seemingly mattered more. First game going to overtime. Second game, Fox with the game winner.

0

445.379 - 461.28 JD

Third game, Kawhi going absolutely bonkers, scoring 31, I think he had in that game three. in a close game where the world had to actually win, and they had to win by three because of the point differential, and those first three were amazing. And it was funny, we just did the live stream here, and we're like, what happens if the fourth game's a real stinker?

0

461.581 - 482.524 JD

What effect will that have on people remembering this? We'll see when all the articles come out, but come on, overall, this was a huge win. And kudos to the guys for giving a damn. There was way more like... A little defense, deflections, guys just not giving up, easy, ole, like here you go to the, like not many instances or cherry picking.

0

483.325 - 492.415 JD

They just played a little defense, like 80%, I don't know, 90% effort, and that's all we sort of needed. Yeah, there was, I don't know, was there three alley-oops because people were playing defense?

492.435 - 492.976 Tass Mellis

Yeah, there wasn't a lot.

492.996 - 512.337 JD

There wasn't many of them just because guys were getting back and playing hard. And, yeah, it started literally with Wemby. He had three blocks in that opening game and 14 points. That guy was serious. If he's playing hard, it had to trickle down to everybody else. So that was super fun.

512.477 - 536.937 JD

And then Scotty Barnes, who always just plays with his team first, took one shot in that first game, and it was the game winner. Yeah, because that's what he was about, just that one shot. American hero. He shot way better on Sunday night than he did on Saturday night. Saturday wasn't great. He was saving up.

537.097 - 561.152 JD

If you were to make a top five list of guys that played hard in the 2026 NBA All-Star Games, I want to hear who's on your top five. I got Wemby in the top five. Yep. Kawhi. Yes. Ant. Yes. Cade. Yes. I think it's Scottie. Scottie. You can put Scottie in there for sure. Those are the five I wrote down. I was wondering if anybody had a guy I didn't. But I think those are the ones that come to mind.
