Only Leon Dreisaitl played more. They were both over 21 minutes. This has got to be really quite something, isn't it, for you to watch with Szymanski just in terms of what he's accomplished already in his time in the Oilers organization, but more specifically as an Edmonton Oilers prospect.

Yeah, absolutely. We're all cheering for him. And it's different seeing him wearing the 4-4, the double fours out there. But, you know, I mean, to represent your country like that and to play alongside Leon, it's got to be a pretty amazing experience. And to play as much as he did. So that's a great start for him.

Well, I mean, and we're going to have Bruce Kerlock coming up a bit. And he's talked about, you know... How things have changed down at Bakersfield. Are you guys leading the league in goals per game, by the way?

Yeah, so you're leading. I mean, the Oilers are fourth in the NHL in scoring, and you guys are top spot in the NHL in scoring. And a lot of it's new players brought in. And if you had told me, Colin, in the first two rookie games, that Szymanski would be playing 21 minutes for Germany... for the you know first game the olympics and oh by the way you know would have played five games in the nhl i would have said are you kidding me he it's it literally looks like he's improved by leaps and bounds is that a fair assessment yeah you know anytime you're going overseas or coming back it's a

From my experience, it's about a four to six week, sometimes eight week adjustment. Just the style of the game is completely different.

What is the Bakersfield Condors' current situation during the AHL all-star break?

What we worked on him first was just the physical play and playing down low. He was so great at accepting that because he recognized that he's probably going to start as a depth forward, right, third or fourth line if he can make the jump to the NHL. So part of it was the player willing and then also us having a plan with the development team, Keith Gretzky and Stan Bowman. So, you know, that part is interesting how, you know, he committed that at first and then we started talking about more of the offensive side. So, yes, he's improved a lot. It's been a partnership and it's been exciting to watch.

Do you feel reinvigorated a bit? No disrespect to the players that you've coached in the past, I'll be blunt. I didn't find the games particularly like when you fell behind the last couple of years, it was going to be tough to work your way back in those games. You had a different type of team. You're in every game right now, even, even on the nights where you've been down and you've been down a bunch of defenseman of late, seemingly left for dead at, at, you know, three, nothing or three, one, you guys can punch back in the, in those sort of games. How much of an opportunity has there been for you growth wise as a coach?
