And this is how it rolls in oil country. Yesterday, it was Leon Dreisettel, of course, the captain of Team Germany. Leon did his availability for his first practice back in the Olympics. And today, it was Conor McDavid. And we mention this because this is not always the case in other markets. But at Edmonton, you get one of the two big guns pretty much every day. And what happens is basically the assembled media, they pool and decide who they're going to talk to on a daily basis. And certainly during the course of the last two Stanley Cup finals and dating back to the conference finals and even in the divisional finals. where it became apparent that the Oilers were doing some things that other teams weren't in terms of the availability with their top stars.
Today was not an easy day for Connor McDavid. Make no mistake about it. I cut right to the chase with him and asked him whether or not he was going to play tonight. How are you feeling? Good to go, you think?

There you go. It was that simple. Yeah, I'm in. He was asked about the loss in the gold medal game to the United States.
Yeah, I mean, I thought we played obviously well. I thought we did enough to win. Their goalie made some big, big saves. I thought we also missed some chances. You know, so obviously disappointing. There's no way around it. No way to sugarcoat it. It sucks. But overall, the experience was good. And it was a great group of guys to be around, honestly. It was a special group to be a part of. And we'll have those memories for a lifetime.
Oilers are in a sprint here, 24 games left in the regular season. There's a whole bunch. I mean, Edmonton's only four points behind the Vegas Golden Knights for top spot in the Pacific Division, but it's Edmonton and it's Anaheim and it's Los Angeles and it's San Jose, all who the Oilers are going to see on this upcoming road trip.
