Got in at uh two thirty in the morning on uh Thursday on the AM. A poor performance in Washington actually had some decent transition in that game, created some offense, didn't get any saves when they needed it, ended up losing seven four with a couple empty netters to the Washington Capitals who went on to beat the Canadians last night, eight four, fifteen goals and two games for them.
Edmonton took on Tampa Bay last night, had the requisite commitment. energy, physicality, ended up losing 2-1, and frankly it was a terrific game. And maybe the Oilers best game they've played in several weeks, but they still took the loss. Oilers 9-9-5 And tomorrow we'll conclude a seven game road trip for Everton. The Otters have had both five and seven game Eastern Conference road trips already this year. To put things in perspective, uh You know, they'll be their sixteenth road game. I'd like to get your thoughts on last night's game. Obviously, Pickard was terrific in the third. The Oilers looked fatigued in the third period, got outplayed. But I thought a pretty good game over. Overall, highly competitive game.
Like that Darnell Nurse stepped up for Jake Wallman. Wallman had a tough night. Wallman uh got drilled by Curtis Douglas in the first period, then he blocked a shot in the back of his leg in the second period, did not finish the game. And the others only have eighteen skaters right now. Um I Would be surprised if Wallman played tomorrow, so stay tuned. Could see some movement. I mean logic dictates that uh they do have a couple players. Um right now Casper Kapanen's on L T I R. Ryan Nugent Hopkins, who is back skating, so is Kapanen, by the way. Uh Ryan Nugent Hopkins is back in Edmonton, he's skating, he's been out we b we assume with an upper body issue. We know that both Noah Philp And uh Curtis Lazard took high hits in a game against Buffalo.
And uh they are out for this uh remainder of this road trip which concludes uh tomorrow night. in Florida. So just stay tuned during the course of today's show.
