Whatever the case, Colorado has been banged up since the Oilers have played the most playoff games in the NHL uh over the last uh three years, at least in the Western Conference and these teams are both going. It is gonna be a beauty. The only thing that's a little bit of a downer is it's the second of a back to back. We got into the hotel about two thirty last night, two thirty to three o'clock, as the oilers get ready to play the Colorado Avalanche. Just to illustrate the numbers. Edmonton since November the ninth is twenty two six and two. They have a seventy s seven sixty seven points percentage. That's number one in the NHL. They're number one in the league in goals four since that time at three point seven three.
Uh fifth in the league in goals against at two point five. Number three in the power play at thirty point one. And after a tough night last night where they gave up two and three, they dropped all the way down to number three on PK. But when you're in the top five and everything for Basically two months, you're playing pretty good hockey. Uh conversely, Colorado's playing pretty good too. The Oilers are seven and one in their last eight. The Avalanche are six oh and one in their last seven. The Aves are nine-two and one in their last twelve. The Aves are thirteen-four-and-one in their last eighteen. Chris McFarland, uh, you know, we used to have Scott House in the GM of the Columbus Blue Jackets on our show probably once a month back in the day.
Scott did two stits with the Oiders before and after he was GM in uh Columbus and he'd always tell me there was a a guy that really fundamentally got it from a management perspective and Chris McFarland was due for bigger and better things. Chris McFarland was the guy that told me at the end of the sixteen seventeen season that the oilers may be going the wrong way. And maybe too heavy and not skilled enough in the next couple of years with the way the league was going and the Colorado was gonna commit to speed and tempo and pace and well he turned out to be right. And uh but McFarland's got a good team and he fixed his biggest issue which was goaltending. Uh they went out and got McKenzie Blackwood and Scott Wedgewood, two former New Jersey picks, and all Blackwood has done since coming here is stop the puck.

Uh he attended Harvard University and he was Peter Sarelli, the Oilers' former GM's best man in his wedding. Uh so uh Mark's there's no question.
Mark's a smart guy, and the beauty of this show is you don't have to agree with everybody's politics. I get guys tweet guys tweet at me all the time, Bob. I don't usually it's after I say something positive about oil oil and gas.
