Hey, it's Bob Stoffer. I just wanted to let you know that you can listen to Oilers Now ad-free on Amazon Music, included with Prime.
latest news on your team. May I remind you, there is one place where they can guarantee to play together and that is in Eventon.
The hottest guest in the game. They're proud of our history and her heritage and not only Emitton but in Canada. What a s This is amazing. Access you won't get anywhere else.
I feel super proud and excited to wear that jersey every single day. It's hockey. Do you feel it from the moment you uh awaken? It's
a snatch and grab in full from Stuart.
This is Leon Dreisettle. I'm darn all nurses. This is Ryan Eastern Hopkins. Hi. This is Connor McDerm from your Edmundson Oilers. And
this is Oilers Now with Bob Stoffer. Brought to you by World of Spas on your home for Oilers Hockey. 880 Jazz.
Alright. Let's go. Here we go. Welcome everybody, Bob Stoffer joining you along with Brendan Escott, Derek Scott, Kellen Kennedy. This is Oilers Now. So I'm watching um Bama and Vanderbilt a couple of weeks ago. And uh they they're playing this the song. with every start of possession for Vandy, who recruited uh a kid out of uh New Mexico and I'm like, geeze, that's got a that's got a kick ass beat to it. And then I'm watching Tennessee this last week and they're playing the same song. So I can't find the song. So I go Dar Darryl Bosenkohl's son Tyler, Tyler Bosenkohl is uh the DJ at the Others games. And he goes, Well, hump me a a couple bars to it. So I and within like three seconds He had the song Narco.
So there you have it. We we got a little bit younger. You learn new things every day. Or something like that. Anyways, I love that song. Sorry, I do. I think it's a you know, Derek, you're you're the former DJ. You you can see how that would get it going in the club.
That's a great song. It's just a feel good tune. Yeah. I feel like that's even a remix of the original too.
Yeah, text us on the actually fine floors text line, seven eight zero four nine six zero zero six three. Like you know what? Some days you can open up with Led Zeppelin. Some days you can open up with a tragically hip. Some days you can open up with you two or the police or you know, some days a little bit of country. Not often. Not a lot of country. Which is not to say I don't like country, it's just it's not really my thing. You know, but whatever. Like if you're in a country, that's cool. You're in a country, you know? Um But I don't know. It just works. Trying to get 'em pumped up. And you know, if you notice last night if you're in the building as the Oilers came on the ice to start the second period, Narco was playing.
So there you have it. Uh the Eventon Oilers, uh a a hard fought 3 2, overtime loss against a real good team, Carolina. Uh it was a wild game. We're gonna bring in Brendan Escott fairly quickly on today's edition of Oters now. Brendan, that Both teams are probably sitting there saying, We should have won that game in the regulation. Like Carolina had three or four chances in the first period. The others are up two nothing. They had two or three chances in overtime. Freddie Anderson was great. Great. What'd you think?
Goaltenders did their part. I mean, that was one of the best games that I've seen Skinner play as far as the acrobatic saves and uh that one Dominic Hassock style save as you highlighted there in the uh that we'll hear in the audio recap. I mean, that was preposterous. But ultimately, they you know, they're coming up one goal short, and it's disappointing to see. I think that they are probably more deserving of a better record than they have right now in the grand scheme of things, but you gotta earn it too. You gotta earn all of your bounces and I guess they haven't so far.
We're seven games in a season and Ryan Nugent Hopkins and Zach Hyman have not scored yet. Think about that for a second. A year ago you know, in twenty two, twenty three R and H had uh thirty six or thirty seven goals on a hundred and three points. Zach Hyman, the last two years thirty six and fifty four goals.
