Super Bowl weekend is when it kind of kicks off. But a lot of people are wondering, well, how are they going to televise that? Who's going to televise? At, right? How are they gonna do it? Is there a what's gonna be special about it? Well, the games themselves will be spectacular. We all know that. So we'll talk to John about that because John's very plugged in on the business side when it comes to the National Hockey League. I always tell people, you know what? Of all the people that we work with here, there's one guy that could get a hold of the commish in like thirty seconds. He's that guy. He could he could phone 'em up and Gary would actually answer. Hello? That would be Gary, right? So John is going to join us at 505 this afternoon.
And then we're going to talk to Edmonton Oak Kings head coach Luke Pierce. And uh looking forward to uh chatting with Luke about uh what's going on with the Edmonton Oak Kings. A little bit of a little bit of a roundabout, a little bit of a merry-go-round right now with their netminders, except for their number one guy who is definitely their number one net minder. So we'll talk to Luke about that. And uh hey, listen, they had a success. Successful. Do you see the teddy bear toss they did on Saturday afternoon? That was pretty spectacular. Only fifteen thousand teddy bears. Right?
It was raining in grand fashion from the ceiling, the rafters. I I've always wondered that you buy a ticket to one of like the first ten or twelve rows of that game. You were just getting pelted for a probably a while.
Yes. I I saw some video it was uh that that some people had taken and one the guy who was taking the video got hit in the head and dropped his phone. It was quite the entertaining uh part of it for me was that you could actually see the phone land on the ground below and it was looking up you could see the ceiling at Roger's place. It was pretty funny stuff, but everybody just loved it. Just shy of a sellout. Like I think it's probably a sellout actually by the time you uh take a away some of the areas are blocked off a little bit, but they had well in excess of almost 17,000 there for the teddy bear toss. So i it was a lot of fun. It's just it's it's just a total blast. But you're right. I wouldn't w I don't understand why somebody would want to sit in those first three or four or five rows because it would be uh it'd be intense.
You just you've gotta understand what you're signing up for because there's a lot of stuff coming from the rolls behind you that is not making it onto the ice on the first go.
