Bob and the Oilers just about ready to touch down into Seattle for a what I think is a pretty sizable matchup coming up tomorrow afternoon. Certainly big for the Edmonton Oilers. But Seattle's playing pretty well so far this season, and they're ahead of the Oilers in the standings. And you know about all the heat that the Oilers have received from the fan base and from the media here in Edmonton this week. So uh I think the focus is going to be pretty Pretty solid tomorrow. But uh lots to talk about on this show. Coming up after five o'clock, we'll be chatting with Rob Brown and also uh we'll check in with David Staples as well from the cult of hockey at around five thirty-five this afternoon.

Well, it's always been a big holiday in our house, but not so much since we moved through Canada. Yeah. Uh Canadian Thanksgiving. Oh.

It's two opportunities for Turkey, but you know what? Hey, I get it. Hey, uh, let's uh let's talk about the Edmonton Oilers right off the top here. There's been a lot of heat on this hockey team. They came off that long road trip, did not look very good, looked like they had a fair bit of jet lag on Tuesday night, and Dallas just took it to them. And I I don't blame them, especially after what happened last year in the postseason, that kind of thing. But w what do you think? Is it how tough is it not to overreat? React when you're Stan Bowman or somebody like that. Is it you gotta keep your cool, I gotta think. You've been there, you've done that.

Well you've got to have games like that too. You're gonna have nights when they just don't have it. They just didn't have it. They tried to rally, they made a couple of tries to get going, they couldn't do it. You're gonna have nights like that.

How are the Edmonton Oilers expected to perform against Seattle tomorrow?

You can't get too upset. Eighty two games. That team doesn't cheat you on work ethic very often.

Well there's been a lot of talk. Chris Knoblock has been talking about having to change and tinker a little bit maybe with some of their systems, but uh it's I gotta think it's really tough not to just do too much. Just let these guys and there's there's talent on this hockey team, they've just gotta find a way to work their way out of it. Uh is that underplaying it or am I maybe just not not getting the the full story here? What do you think?

I'm with you. I think it's all about hard work and dedication and perseverance. I really believe they're talented enough. They didn't play in the Stanley Cup final three years in a row, they're not a good hockey team. And the coach didn't take a stupid pill last week. He's a smart guy, he's a good coach. So I think they have to work their way out of it. I really believe that. I've said that a couple of times now. After I they're getting out worked in my view.

Yeah, just it's the work ethic thing and and this is a lunch pale town, right? Everybody here, the blue collar city, that kind of thing, so you really can't take too many nights off here. And I don't think that they do in general once they get it turned around. But w I was at a luncheon not long ago, uh and and everybody was uh concerned about or or they didn't want to buy into the fact that the summer has been short for both Florida and the Oilers the last two years after those Stanley Cup championships.
