We will talk to Trent Frederick. uh who uh i is about to have his uh second interview and this or second conversation the last fifteen minutes with a really great guy. Actually Trent nobody would say that about me but uh welcome to Oilers Now. We did briefly meet in Boston when Ebbington was there. I was with uh Louie and Jack when we had a little conversation with you. Uh I think uh we were going outside to eat, what a surprise and uh you guys were getting ready to play the Oilers.
Bob Stauffer 1:58
you doing, first of all, uh a little bit of a surprise I'm sure today finding out that uh you had indeed been traded.
Trent Frederic 2:05
Uh yeah, I'm pretty excited. Uh Yeah, it was kind of um weird because uh have a little injury I deal with and Uh to just kind of sit around, uh Kind of rehabbing that. So um kinda had a feeling something was coming, but um glad to be uh Edmonton Oiler's pretty cool.
Bob Stauffer 2:23
Yeah, I know uh I I spoke to uh Wayne from the Edmonton operation. He's a big fan of yours. Chris Pronger reached out as well. We're gonna have Chris on the show tomorrow, a St. Louis based guy, and you guys had that incredible run back in the twenty sixteen draft. Uh but let's get to the specifics. You mentioned you were uh a little bit nicked up. You might be out a couple of weeks. Uh the word was week to week without you don't have to give us the Cadbury. secret, but can you at least give us a little bit of insight as to what you're dealing with and uh you know, when you sort of envision tracking to uh get back uh to a situation where you can uh play some regular season games.
Trent Frederic 3:01
Uh yeah, this is kind of a uh kind of a flukish injury, but um Uh it's I guess they call it week to week. Um I'm still kinda figuring out every day. Um when I can g get back. I don't know exactly um

What were the details of the three‑way trade that brought Trent Frederic to Edmonton?

timeline. So I'm not really helping here. Uh I haven't skated since the injury but uh hopefully can start skating here soon. But uh
Bob Stauffer 3:22
lower body injury?
Trent Frederic 3:24
Yeah, yeah, it's uh with my ankle, so I have something going on there. Okay. Uh hopefully I'll be back sooner than uh sooner than later.
Bob Stauffer 3:32
So we just got back from a a road trip and it tended to be the toughest of the year. Uh it the Oilers often get Washington, Tampa Bay, Florida and Carolina. Those are really good teams as you know from the east. But one of the things that was pretty obvious, uh Emington's got a l you know, two of the best player th this is how good the Oilers are, Trent. Connor McDavid's the best player in the league. Leon Dress Leon Dreisaddle's the best player in the league this season. So as you saw when the orders were in there earlier this year. Uh just uh a thought to to come into this team. Like y you know, they could they could use a little bit of physicality and size uh in their you know, sort of lines uh two and three, uh and that doesn't mean that you're not gonna get some opportunity to play f you know, uh potentially with Connor or Leon.
