Well, Bob, how are you today? Good. Let's start with this. You worked the Oilers in Anaheim, and then you worked the Colorado-Minnesota series, right? Yep. Are you surprised that Colorado went as quickly as they did in round three? And give Vegas full credit. Carter Hart was outstanding, and the Golden Knights really supported the puck well defensively. But, I mean, I was stunned that Colorado got swept. What about you? I think everybody was.
You know, I think everybody going into that series, and again, I mean, I hate to say it, but doing the series against Minnesota, I do believe that if Minnesota would have won game five, we wouldn't have saw Kel McCarr for the rest of that series. And I think it would have been a much different series against the Minnesota Wild. Truthfully, I mean, you're taking out one of your top defensemen. Nathan McKinnon was obviously banged up as well. I know it's the playoffs. It's not an excuse. But they were definitely compromised and you could tell, especially Makar. Makar just couldn't do the things that Kel Makar typically does. You could tell that he was favoring, he wasn't shooting as much, didn't have that explosiveness.
He was dealing with a couple injuries, by the way, it wasn't just one. I think the shoulder really limited his shooting and you could tell even on the power play he was deferring a lot. But you have to give all the credit to the Vegas Golden Knights, in my opinion. I think they're the best team still remaining in the mix, no question. I think they got better every single game in the playoffs. They're playing the way we felt the Vegas Golden Knights should have played all year long, to be honest. This is a group that's won the Stanley Cup. The Corps has seen it. They've done it. And they're playing like a team right now that's poised and ready to really make sure that they're going to be a difficult out in these playoffs.
I don't know if the Hurricanes or Montreal, if they somehow miraculously come back in that series. They're not coming back. We'll be able to take out Vegas, but it'll be a great series. I think Carolina is a team that... maybe doesn't quite get the respect they deserve. Three of the last four conference finals, they've been knocking on that door heavily. They've made some additions that have made big impacts in their lineup. And, you know, it'll come down to me, the team that can get to their game, but they're two really... cool teams that play under pressure, make plays under pressure and control the game. It's going to be the team to control the most, but that's probably where for me against the avalanche, where I was the most impressed with the Vegas golden Knights, how they control the most offensive team in the week.
